Sweet & Savory Sausage Bites

How to Make Glazed Sausage & Cream Cheese Crescents

These sausage stuffed crescent rolls are super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a large skillet, cook breakfast sausage over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain fat. Stir together the cooked sausage and cream cheese. Set aside.

Unroll crescent rolls and separate rolls into triangles. Cut each triangle down the middle forming two triangles. You will have a total of 32 triangles. Using a small cookie scoop, scoop a heaping tablespoon of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle and roll up. Place the crescent rolls in a 9×13-inch baking dish. In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dijon mustard, and poppy seeds. Cook over medium-low heat until melted. Pour the sauce over the crescent rolls in the baking pan and bake in the oven until golden brown.

  • I use Jimmy Dean breakfast pork sausage. I usually use hot sausage to give the rolls a little kick.
  • Can substitute turkey sausage for a lower calorie option.
  • I like to pulse the cooked sausage in the food processor before combining it with the cream cheese.
  • Use a pizza cutter to easily cut the crescent roll dough into triangles.
  • I prefer to keep the sausage mixture simple, but you can add some shredded sharp cheddar cheese, onions, bell pepper, and garlic if you prefer.
  • For added flavor, you can use onion and chive cream cheese. YUM!
  • Can Glazed Sausage & Cream Cheese Crescents be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the crescent rolls ahead of time and refrigerate them overnight. Add the glaze right before baking.
  • You can make the cream cheese sausage filling ahead of time and refrigerate it in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.

  • In a non-stick skillet, cook sausage until crumbled and no longer pink. Drain fat.

  • These bites taste great hot out of the oven or cooled to room temperature.
