2nd Korean Language Proficiency Test TOPIK to be held in October to meet rising demand

For the Korean Language Proficiency Test, 980 students from Delhi (499 students for TOPIK I, 481 students for TOPIK II), 174 students from Chennai (86 students for TOPIK I, 88 students for TOPIK II), and 94 students from Manipur (51 students for TOPIK I, 43 students for TOPIK II) had applied.

Korean Cultural Centre India has also announced that the Korean Language Proficiency Test will be conducted one more time this year in October. This has been announced as the inquiries regarding the Korean Language Proficiency Test continue to come even after the closure of application deadline for the April batch, due to the increase in the number of Korean language learners in India.

Hwang Il Yong, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre India, said, “Korean is one of the fastest-growing foreign languages in India, and the demand to study the language has constantly been on the rise. This can also be seen from the high number of applicants for TOPIK this year. In 2024, we also plan to conduct the Korean Language Proficiency Test in the month of October”.

The Korean Cultural Centre India has been actively promoting Korean culture and education in India for many years. Through various initiatives, it has been successfully bridging the gap between the two cultures. The Korean Language Proficiency Test is just one such initiative that has been helping Indian students learn the Korean language and gain proficiency in it.

The Korean Cultural Centre India’s efforts have been commendable in promoting cultural exchange, and the interest in Korean language learning is a testament to their success. It is expected that the October batch will witness an even higher number of applicants, as the popularity of the Korean language continues to grow in India.
