Galaxy of top journalists to gather at Web Media Summit on Oct 28-29 in Patna

Anand Kaushal, National President, WJAI said, “A national-level representative body of web Journalists and news portals, the WJAI not only strives to preserve and protect the freedom of web journalists and news portals, and seeks to improve the quality of news content by raising the bar of Web Journalism in India, it also oversees the adherence of the Code of Ethics by news publishers, and also addresses grievances of the readers that have not been resolved by them within stipulated time period.”

With 12 chapters across India, the WJAI has over three hundred individual web journalists and over two hundred web portals as members. The motive behind the inception of the WJAI was to have a result-oriented struggle to incorporate the high ideals of journalism in the Web Media, to make it more responsible towards society, to give legal status to web journalism, and to protect the interests of web journalists, the WJAI national president added.

Some of the dignitaries including renowned media persons who have confirmed their presence during the Web Media Summit 2023 include Prof (Dr) Sanjay Dwivedy, Former Director General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), N. K. Singh, Former Secretary General of Editors Guild, Brajesh Kumar Singh, Group Editor of Network18 Group, Sant Prasad Rai Senior, Vice President of ABP Network,  Manoj Gairola, Editor-in-Chief of News Nation Network, Pankaj Singh, Executive Editor of TV-9, Gautam R Morarka, Editor-in-Chief, Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Limited, Dayashankar Mishra, Executive Editor of Network18 Digital, Abdul Wahid Azad, Editor of ABPLive.com, Rajeev Kamal, Editor of News Gathering, ABP Network, Rajkamal Choudhary, Channel Head of Zee Bihar/Jharkhand, Alok Kumar, Editor of Navbharat Times Digital, Praveen Jha, Editor of Punjab Kesari, Bihar/Jharkhand, and Gyaneshwar, Editor of Live Cities.

During the Web Media Summit event, the WJAI would also unveil a collectible souvenir published on Bihar’s historical geographical cultural heritage, web journalism, and common man’s questions.
