NEW DELHI: The national group Art Exhibition Nirbhay exhibiting 50 paintings of promising artists from across India took off at the country’s prestigious address India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Saturday. At the launch of the exhibition NIRBHAY featuring contemporary paintings in abstract, intuitive, impressionism, and surreal styles of 34 talented artists, the artist & entrepreneur Tushar said that christening the exhibition as NIRBHAY was a well-thought-of decision. “The word NIRBHAY means fearless or without fear. Every one of us possesses some degree of fear. The fear of losing what one owns. However, our role at Luna Arts is to shed off the fear from the minds of artists and make them fearless persons so that they could express their feelings on the canvas without any fear,” he added.

Artist & entrepreneur Smita who along with her brother Tushar founded LUNA ARTS owns the pride of curating 10 art exhibitions as seven of these art shows were organized at ALL INDIA FINE ARTS & CRAFTS SOCIETY (AIFACS), New Delhi, welcomed the guests and speakers with bouquets.

While addressing the participating artists, the celebrity artist Ajay Samir said that the actual imprisons of artists’ work reflected when he or she shed off fear and started working on the canvas and playing with the colours. “Anything before that is just a theory learning. It’s a matter of pride for the artists who are exhibiting their work at NIRBHAY as having an exhibition of paintings at IHC is in itself a big feat. Whosoever visits Delhi, definitely comes to IHC to have a look at the artworks displayed here,” Ajay Samir added.

Painting is the most beautiful way of expression and communication. The painting was the first expression of a human being 3.5 lakhs years before and when it was used for communicating with each other or for sharing expressions. The speech was discovered later as it came very late about 15,000 years before. However, with the advent of language, the confusion started as human beings devised diversified languages, said Bigyan Mihir Patnaik, Chief General Manager at Power Grid Cooperation of India. He is an art lover curating art shows, evaluating art, and writing on artists and their art.

While asking the artists to create value for their artwork. Patnaik said that it was because of the strong value addition in terms of expressions Amrita Sher-Gil’s painting titled The Story Teller, signed and dated 1937, fetched a staggering ₹61.8 crore, etching its name in history as the most expensive Indian artwork to be auctioned.

Qazi M Raghib, a Creative Director and Art Critic based in New Delhi for the last three decades offered valuable tips to the participating artists on how to approach the media houses for getting articles about their artworks published in newspapers and magazines. He has worked for leading media organizations, including India Today Group, inflight magazine Swagat, Sahara Daily, Mid-Day, Sunday Mail, and Current, and is currently with the National Herald. He has excelled in various professional roles as an Art Director, Illustrator, Art Writer, Painter, and Photographer. He is also an advisor to Jamia Millia Islamia University, and is running an Art Gallery, and organized over 60 shows so far.

Qazi M Raghib said that the artwork must create an illusion and a good artist can create a good illusion. “It’s not very important for a painting to be attractive to have good colours, mediums or base but creating the strong visual or illusion is more important.

On this occasion, Nikhil Kumar, a flute artist from New Delhi mesmerized the participants with his enchanting flute play.
