Indian singer Neeti Mohan sings Korean track ‘Stay With Me’ from K-drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God”

NEW DELHI: On Friday, the wholly-packed 2000-seater Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium was enchanted as Indian Singer Neeti Mohan took the stage, enthralling the audience with a medley of popular Indian songs that even prompted the Korean Ambassador to dance along. She added to the excitement by singing the Korean track ‘Stay With Me’ from the renowned K-drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.”

The occasion was the K-Concert organized by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Centre India in New Delhi.

The K-pop idol group ‘MustB’ electrified the atmosphere with their dynamic performances, including their dance to ‘Naatu Naatu,’ inspiring the audience to join in. The Korean B-Boying performance team, HEUNG, showcased a remarkable collaboration between Korean traditional elements of music, accessories, and dance, seamlessly integrated with B-boying. Serving as a prime example of successful glocalization, blending global urban dance culture with local traditions. A local K-Pop cover dance team further underscored the significance of cultural exchange between the two nations.

Yu Byung Chae, Deputy Minister of cultural & arts policy at the Ministry of Culture, Art and Tourism, and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, Chang Jae Bok, congratulated India on the historic success of Chandrayaan 3 landing on the moon’s south pole during their speeches at this event.

Yu Byung Chae, Deputy Minister of cultural & arts policy emphasized the significant role of K-Culture in connecting the future generations of Korea and India. He expressed hope that cultural events commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations would facilitate more opportunities for young people from both countries to interact and build friendships. He reaffirmed the commitment to supporting diverse cultural exchange projects aimed at bringing Korea and India closer through K-Culture.

Kumar Tuhin, Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, and Sunil, Additional Director General of Global Outreach at Prasar Bharti, were honored guests representing the Indian government.

MustB, the K-Pop sensation, makes an exuberant return to the heart of India after a hiatus of 4 years, ready to electrify the pulsating streets of the Capital City. In celebration of the golden milestone of 50 years of harmonious Korea-India diplomatic ties, the Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI), in collaboration with its partners, has unveiled an unprecedented K-Pop Concert, aimed at soaring the heights of cross-cultural exchange between these two nations.

A constellation of luminaries including ‘Girl Crush’, the exuberant ‘Heung’ (흥), the mellifluous Indian vocalist Neeti Mohan, and the dynamic K-Pop powerhouse ‘MUSTB’, united on the stage, casting a spellbinding fusion of K-Pop and Indian cadences, all laced with intricate dance symphonies.

The epoch-making ‘Crazy for K-Culture’ affair stands as a synthesis of manifold performances emblematic of both the Korean and Indian ethos. Esteemed envoys from the Indian and Korean governmental spheres, along with zealous aficionados of Korean culture, and beyond, will converge, thus christening this as the preeminent soirée of the year.

Trace back the chronicles to 2019, when MUSTB, the quintessential K-Pop boy ensemble, inaugurated their journey with the resounding single ‘I Want U’, under the aegis of MustM Entertainment. With a discography boasting of 1 mini-album, 4 single albums, and a slew of singles, the ensemble has a history of enthralling the Indian audience, having previously graced the stage at the 2019 Hornbill Music Festival.
