In a career that unfolded across an impressive five decades, Chandramohan established himself as one of the most versatile and enduring talents in the vibrant world of Telugu cinema. At the age of 82, the veteran actor had been grappling with multiple health issues for some time. On November 11, as his condition took a downturn, his wife Jalandhara and concerned family members rushed him to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills. The emergency department at Apollo Hospital received the actor, who had been unresponsive for 20 minutes.

Battling a history of peritoneal dialysis and ischemic cardiomyopathy, the actor’s situation became critical. Despite 55 minutes of resuscitation attempts, there was no return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), as indicated by the ECG displaying asystole. Tragically, the actor was pronounced dead at 9.57 am, marking the end of an era in Telugu cinema.

Family members announced that the final rites for the late actor would be solemnised on Monday, adding a poignant chapter to his illustrious journey. Condolences poured in from all quarters for the departed artist, celebrated for his versatile roles as a hero, comedian, and character actor. 

Born on May 23, 1943, in Pamidimukkala village in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, Chandramohan, a BSc (Agriculture) graduate from Agriculture College, Bapatla, carved out a distinguished career in Telugu films, earning awards and accolades that immortalise his significant contributions to the industry.

In a somber turn of events, the renowned Telugu Actor Chandramohan breathed his last in a private hospital on Saturday morning, leaving behind a legacy that spans decades in the film industry. The 82-year-old actor had been battling various ailments for an extended period, and on November 11, his wife Jalandhara, along with concerned family members, rushed him to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills as his health deteriorated.

According to sources from Apollo Hospital, the actor, unresponsive for 20 minutes upon arrival, was admitted to the emergency department. Struggling with a history of peritoneal dialysis and ischemic cardiomyopathy, his condition turned critical. Despite valiant efforts with 55 minutes of resuscitation, the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) remained elusive, as indicated by the ECG displaying asystole. Tragically, the hospital source confirmed his passing at 9.57 am.

Over five decades, he acted in over 900 films, earning recognition for his performances in various genres. From the Best Actor award for Padaharella Vayasu in 1978 to the Nandi Best Character Actor award in 2006 for Athanokkade, Chandramohan’s contributions to cinema are immortalized in acclaimed films such as Seetamalakshmi, Gitanjali, Manmadhudu, and Dookudu, among many others. His versatile talent and charismatic presence have left an indelible imprint on the hearts of cinephiles, ensuring his enduring legacy in the world of Telugu cinema.
