In 2014, he made his rough acting debut as Robert McCall in The Equalizer, a no-holds-barred action slugfest that led to a sequel and got good reviews and a lot of money at the box office.

What is the Release Date for the Equalizer 3?
The Equalizer 3 will come out on September 1, 2023, five years after the first sequel.
Soon after the second movie came out, director Antoine Fuqua confirmed that there would be more in the series.
“Personally, I’d love for it to happen,” he told CinemaBlend. I mean that the audience has spoken, so let’s hope it does well for the rest of its life.
“Sony has talked about it and brought it up. It would be fun to do it again. I’d love to do it with Denzel again. If that happens, I’d like to see The Equalizer 3.”
Washington said that the movie would start filming in 2022 and that Emancipation’s director of photography, Robert Richardson, would be the DP. This month, the show was finished in Rome.

In The Equalizer 3, Denzel Washington will play Robert McCall again. He’ll also work with Dakota Fanning, who was in Man on Fire and will play a role that hasn’t been decided yet.

Washington talked to Collider in March 2022 about getting back into action star shape for the third movie. He said, “They’ve written the third Equalizer, so that’s what I’m supposed to do.”
“So I need to get in shape and start beating people up again. I get to beat up more people. The Tragic History of Macbeth and then went out and beat up some people. Can’t get better, right?”
Fuqua talked about how he came up with the idea to cast Fanning on The Beard And The Bald Movie Podcast. “I think I was talking to Denzel. We were talking on the phone about [The Equalizer 3], and the subject of [the late director] Tony Scott’s film Man on Fire came up,” he said.
“I think we were talking about how his birthday was coming up, and Dakota came up, so I asked, “How old is Dakota now?” We were like, “Yeah, she’s about the right age,” and I said, “It would be cool to bring her back.”
“So, that’s kind of how it went, and then I met her. As soon as I walked into the room and saw her, I fell in love with her. I mean, she’s a great actress, but when you meet her in person, it’s like, “Wow, she’s really something.”
What Happens in the Equalizer 3?
Even though there are no official plot details for The Equalizer 3, it seems likely that Robert McCall will be looking for a new conspiracy or gang in Europe.
Fuqua had previously told CinemaBlend, “I would love for it to take place internationally. I think Denzel would be a great James Bond-type character.” Denzel and I have a lot of different conversations.
“I’m working on some ideas and roles that I’d like him to play. That’s how things go with him most of the time. I’m imagining him as a cowboy or something, and then I have to go pitch it.”
