Pathaan’s initial protests were motivated by a good cause. The return of superstar Shah Rukh Khan alone generated a tonne of excitement for the picture. Along with Siddharth Anand, who directed War, the film also starred Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, both of whom appeared to be quite attractive additions to the cast.
On the other hand, Besharam Rang has flipped the script, and now nobody cares about anything but the saffron-colored bikini. Pahlaj Nihalani, a former chairman of the CBFC, has shared some of his insights down below.

Everything kicked up when Madhya Pradesh’s home minister, Narrotam Mishra, objected to a depiction of a “Muslim man grabbing a woman in saffron.” Huge amounts of criticism were leveled towards Besharam Rang, with many calling for a boycott of the SRK-starring film. Actors Swara Bhasker and Rahul Dholakia were two of the few well-known people to defend the movie.

Yesterday, the Censor Board mandated several cuts to the picture, one of which involved the soundtrack. Before its publication, Shah Rukh Khan and his team have been asked to send in a corrected version. Now, ex-CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani has joined in, saying that Pathaan was unfairly targeted because of the Besharam Rang scandal.
In an interview with ETimes, Pahlaj Nihalani said, “There’s no rule that stipulates that a color can be cut.” If you find any profanity or other offensive material, feel free to provide suggestions for edits. But if they demand discounts according to their skin tone, that’s the wrong step to take.

The government may exert some form of pressure… As a result of the controversies, Pathaan suffers. The ministry likely put pressure on the CBFC to cut this saffron scene. In any case, they had already cleared the costume and the shot in the trailer.

The ministry may have put pressure on him to have a closer look at the video because of the saffron hues. It would be the wrong move if they recommended a shave due to your skin tone.
Whether or not the scene in which Deepika Padukone wears a saffron bikini in Pathaan makes the final cut is currently up in the air.

The creators have announced the Pathan release date, so all of you SRK superfans out there can start counting down the days till you can see the film in theatres. Since Indian Republic Day is celebrated annually on 26 January, the film will premiere on January 25, 2023. Both a Telugu and a Tamil dubbed version of the film will be released. All of Shahrukh Khan’s adoring fans are beyond themselves with joy at this unexpected reunion.
Siddharth Anand helms the project, which will be produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films.
