Firefly Lane Season 2 Release Date: Firefly Lane will be back soon!

The series is based on Kristin Hannah’s book of the same name. It tells the story of two girls named Tully and Kate and their 30-year friendship, including the good and bad times they’ve had together.

The show, which starred Katherine Heigl as Tully and Sarah Chalke as Kate, debuted in February 2021 and was picked up for a second season in May 2021.

After telling the story of Tully and Kate’s friendship from high school to adulthood, season 1 ends on a cliffhanger by showing that they are no longer friends.

Fans have been waiting eagerly for the second season to see how everything turns out, and Netflix has promised that we’ll find out in the next episodes.

Heigl is set to play Tully again, and Chalke is set to play Kate again. Ali Skovbye is back as Teenage Tully, Roan Curtis is back as Teenage Kate, Ben Lawson is back as Johnny Ryan, Beau Garrett is back as Cloud, and Yael Yurman is back as Marah Ryan.

Along with the actors who are coming back, there are also some new ones. Ignacio Serricchio will play Danny, Jolene Purdy will play Justine, India de Beaufort will play Charlotte, and Greg Germann will play Benedict.

What Will Season 2 of Firefly Lane Be About?

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, the second season is about Kate “struggling with the painful aftermath of Johnny’s disastrous trip to Iraq,” while Tully is sued after leaving her talk show and has to start her career over from the bottom.

Tully files a lawsuit to find out more about her birth father, even though her secretive hippie mother, Cloud, doesn’t want her to.

Fans will also find out why Tully and Kate are no longer friends, according to Netflix. “So, we can’t say much about this problem between Tully and Kate, but we can say that it has to do with family,” Chalke had said before. “And Johnny doesn’t have anything to do with it.”

When Will the Second Season of Firefly Lane Come Out?

The second season will have two parts. The first part will come out on Dec. 2, 2022, and the second part will come out sometime in 2023.

Netflix said in October 2022 that Firefly Lane season 2 will be the last. This means that part 2 will be the last episodes of the show.

What Happens in Firefly Lane’s Second Season?

In season 2, people will find out what might have ended Tully and Kate’s close friendship of 30 years.

Before that happens, Kate has to deal with the pain of Johnny’s bad trip to Iraq, and Tully is being sued because she quit her talk show and has to start her career all over again from the bottom. This makes her wonder who she is and where she comes from. Against the wishes of her secretive hippie mother, Cloud, she tries to find the father she never met (Beau Garrett).

In the 1980s, Kate and Johnny first fall in love, which causes a lot of trouble in the newsroom where they work as Tully’s career rises and she fights and flirts with cocky sportscaster Danny Diaz. She may have found her perfect match—if they can stop fighting for five minutes.

In the 1970s, Cloud goes to jail for selling drugs, and Tully moves far away to live with her grandmother. This makes it hard for Kate and Tully to keep their friendship together. As the girls go through the ups and downs of high school apart, they know that the only thing they really need is each other, but will that always be true?

When Was the Second Season of Firefly Lane Filmed?

Filming for the second season of Firefly Lane began in August 2021 in Vancouver and went on all through the fall. Katherine Heigl’s birthday was in November, and we know that because it was on set. The show came back after the holidays on February 1. The last scene was shot in late April 2022.

How Many Episodes Will Be in Season 2 of Firefly Lane?

The second season will have 16 episodes, which is a lot.
