The Story of Season 4 of Breeders

The next season will likely pick up shortly after the June 11, 2022 release of the third season finale, No More Part Two.

Ollie Parsons helmed the episode, with scripting by Simon Blackwell. From the official episode summary: “A furious confrontation between Paul and Ally is interrupted by Ava’s news about Jim; Luke is happier than ever; a newly confident Ava stands up to her dad, but Paul and Ally need to decide if this is it.” With this established setup, Season 4 of Breeders is likely to begin with a pilot episode.

From Hulu’s official synopsis: “Breeders addresses the duality faced by practically all parents, the willingness to die for one’s children paired with the near-constant urge to murder them. Caring dad Paul learns he’s not nearly the man he thought he was.

Ally, his partner, manages a music studio, makes him laugh, and can even read to their kids while she claims to be asleep. Paul and Ally, the protagonists of this forthright and unflinching comedy, are a typical middle-class couple: they have two small children, Luke and Ava, and work full-time while also caring for their elderly parents and paying a mortgage.

Half the time, Ally’s estranged father Michael shows up at their door, and the family adopts him as a third child, but he brings baggage and ideas with him. Paul’s own mom and dad, Jackie and Jim, are there to lend a hand, but they have a “different style of parenting.”
