The Story of Season 2 of “Little America”

With its roots in the true stories published in Epic Magazine, the upcoming Netflix series “Little America” will dig beyond the headlines to explore the comedic, romantic, poignant, inspiring, and shocking experiences of immigrants in the United States, a topic that is more topical than ever.

When discussing the program during the TCA conference, executive producer Alan Yang hinted that Season 2 will be even more expansive than Season 1 and that Season 2 may even travel “far back in the past” to find the true immigrant experiences that will serve as the show’s basis. “We might film an episode about Harry and Meg,” Yang said.

Gordon has expressed an interest in having her husband’s experiences serve as the basis for a sequel. He deserves a small part of the Little America story even if he’s still doing open mike comedy in Chicago, Gordon added.

The creative team collectively said that the series would not overtly deal with politics. However, they noted that any program that examines the humanity of immigrants sends a political message.

According to Nanjiani, “stating an immigrant’s name is sort of a bizarre political statement” in a world where “every single (number) is a person, a human being… Maybe the show makes (the immigrant) debate seem a little more concrete or real or personal.”
