Top 10 NFL Teams of All Time

There should be little debate surrounding this ranking of the Chiefs, as they appear strong all around and possess an outstanding quarterback in Patrick Mahomes.

This team boasts one of the premier running back duos in college Football, supported by an exceptional offensive line. However, their only real weakness lies at quarterback position.

1. New Orleans Saints

The Saints first revealed their fleur-de-lis logo in 1967, and it has remained mostly unchanged ever since. This symbol of monarchy and aristocracy can often be found across Europe; New Orleans itself lies within France where this emblematic motif can be found.

Quaid became fond of the Saints while filming his movie, “Everybody’s All-American”, in Baton Rouge in the late ’80s and has since shown his allegiance through thick and thin. He often shares his support on TV shows like NFL Films or by commentating an NFL Films feature like Super Bowl XLIV narrations.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are an NFL franchise located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania owned by Art Rooney with a large and widespread fanbase known as Steeler Nation.

This team has won six Super Bowls and tied with New England Patriots for most AFC championships won. Additionally, they boast an extensive history of divisional title wins.

The Steelers selected Broderick Jones as their third tackle selection; however, Dan Moore and Chuks Okorafor both started 16 games last season despite this addition. But Jones is an energetic physicality who should help the run game for them.

3. Kansas City Chiefs

Lamar Hunt was one of the founders of the American Football League. At first, his team played as the Dallas Texans before moving to Kansas City in 1960.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers have come under scrutiny since losing to Detroit Lions in Week 1, particularly Kadarius Toney, for some sloppy performances during their loss. There have been reports that Kansas City is interested in trading for Clemson wideout Will Howard.

4. Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins are one of the oldest and most storied teams in NFL, well-known for their balanced approach combining run, pass, and defense under coaches like Norv Turner and Joe Gibbs.

Slingin’ Sammy Baugh made his pro football debut during 1937 season and would go on to revolutionize pro football offenses, garnering support that extended beyond Washington D.C. into other areas across America.

On July 13, 2020, the Redskins officially retired their name “Redskins”. Now known as The Washington Football Team.

5. Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers quickly established themselves as one of the NFL’s most successful expansion franchises when they won 7 games during their inaugural year and exceeded all expectations by making playoffs and winning divisional match-up.

The Panthers made their first draft pick in running back Tshimanga Biakabutuka, who finished his injury-shortened career with 2,530 yards and 14 touchdowns for the team. Their uniform colors include white, black and a shade of blue called process blue.

6. Houston Texans

In 2015, the Houston Texans managed to win nine games to capture a division title; however, their first postseason matchup saw them soundly defeated by their opponent.

Houston will enter 2023 with a strong starting lineup. Deshaun Watson needs to stay healthy and J.J. Watt should return to form in order for this team to contend for playoff contention. Defensively, there’s much to look forward to; Dameon Pierce and Devin Singletary should provide running game production while Christian Kirksey and Denzel Perryman will lead their linebacker corps.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In 1979, the Buccaneers won their division championship behind an excellent defense led by Lee Roy Selmon and quarterback Doug Williams.

Tampa Bay currently holds the fourth easiest strength of schedule in the NFL for 2021. They play three games against opponents with projected double-digit Vegas win totals.

Players give the Buccaneers high marks for their training staff and weight room, but feel their facilities could be improved (ranked 23rd). Furthermore, one of their unique club travel policies requires players to share rooms during away games – giving the Bucs another edge against competing clubs.

8. Green Bay Packers

In 1997, the Packers set themselves an ambitious goal of winning consecutive Super Bowls and came incredibly close in a wild card playoff game against San Francisco before succumbing late.

Even after road losses to Kansas City and Minnesota, the Packers still won 11 of their final 13 games to win the NFC North title and secure their fourth straight playoff berth. Rodgers was honored with NFL MVP honors after throwing for 423 yards and four touchdowns against Arizona during a divisional playoff game.

9. Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders made their league debut in 1960 and resided in Oakland, California. However, during their initial years they experienced difficulty under head coaches Red Conkright and Marty Feldman and struggled for success.

Over time, however, the Raiders improved under John Madden and eventually even inspired a video game named in his honor.

After Madden left, the Raiders struggled to sustain their winning ways.
