Nine Years Difference release pop-rock banger ‘Where Are You Now’

Brother Tom and Wez Westwood and Nick Matthews are the trio behind Nine Years Difference. The group combines their musical influence, establishing a sound that cites a range of genres and artists as inspirations.

Nine Years Difference have served us with another pop-rock banger in the form of new single ‘Where Are You Now’. Lush guitars chords and plucky lead lines are brought alongside energised string counter melodies. It’s the perfect track for a summer evening, with an 80s influence providing a drop of nostalgia, but the overall vibe becoming a sunset of sound. The melancholic vocals contrast the upbeat nature of the chorus, keeping the track relaxed. By the end, the track has developed into a choir of instrumentation, driving drums and many layers of backing vocals that bring the track to a gorgeous close.

Tom recalls “The lyrics are based on a past summer romance in my late teens when I attended a friend’s house party. It was a case of boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, girl meets another girl, boy goes home alone.”
