This is an American biographical film based on the book Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors by Piers Paul. The movie discusses the story of a Uruguayan rugby team’s crash aboard. Carlitos Páez tells little details about the team members before reflecting on the unfortunate incident in a brief monologue. 

Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 flew over the Andes on October 13, 1972. The rugby players and their family members are excited about the forthcoming match in Chile. Suddenly, clouds appear in the sky, and the plane encounters light turbulence before colliding with the Andes mountain. Within a few seconds, the tail and the wings of the plane are segregated from the fuselage, and everything goes wrong. In less than a few seconds, 6 passengers and 1 flight attendant ejected from the plane and died on the spot.

On the other hand, a teenager, Mia, is struggling with the death anniversary of her mother and trying to contemplate her relationship with her father, who lives with her, but both are emotionally distant.
