How was the journey with depression and bipolar disorder - Charity Eke

Charity Eke, a Nollywood actress, has spoken up regarding the way she lost her Mental capacity and battled depression for a period of more than two years.

Eke, also known as Chacha Eke Faani, detailed her battle with what she called a "maniac episode of her life," which included Mental Health trauma, an identity crisis, and other mental-related concerns that left her doubting her sanity for months.

She said that her problems began when she felt scared one morning and had to flee to a neighbouring motor park before travelling to Asaba, the capital of Delta State, from Lagos.

She said that she lingered about Lagos' streets, hotels, and beaches for days because she was unable to articulate her thoughts.

"It was a jumble of bipolar diseases, schizophrenia, sadness, and identity crises. I boarded a boat for Ghana while using this fictitious identification card that belonged to one of my made-up businesses. I continued to move while wearing a black jalabiya. I crossed border after border, afraid and unidentified. I was a wanderer at the time," she said.

Associated Post experts lament the lack of knowledge about autism spectrum disorder in Nigeria. Mouka devotes his accomplishments to business partners and guarantees ongoing communication.

She remembered how she subsequently met a woman in Ghana, whom she introduced as Esther, since she was the angel that "the universe used to open my eyes to the reality I disconnected from." "I started walking back to my house. Even though I was ill and in denial, it took days for me to return."

The actress continued, expressing her gratitude for surviving "one of the strangest episodes she had ever encountered."

She announced that she will hold the second iteration of her mental health outreach and seminar in Asaba on June 10 with the subject, "A Whole Me," and that therapists and psychiatrists will be there to help others whose circumstances are similar to her own.
