Zinje Jumaa Mwadama, who faked KCSE, Certificate, Diploma while earning Sh 4.7M, freed by the court

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has detained a man who is believed to have applied for a government position using false academic credentials.

Zinje Jumaa Mwadama was found to have falsified four credentials to be hired by the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS), where she has since collected a salary totalling Ksh. 4.7 million, according to the EACC's findings.

"He has been charged with creating a fake KCSE Certificate from KNEC, a certificate in agriculture and transcripts from Pwani University (formerly Kilifi Institute of Agriculture), and a diploma certificate in sustainable agriculture and rural development from Baraka Agricultural College, Molo," the EACC's examinations revealed.

Mwadama was brought before Chief Magistrate Felix Kombo in Milimani, where he entered an innocent plea to 12 charges of criminal crime.

Forgery, falsifying fake papers, giving misleading data to a public agency, and fraudulently acquiring public property are among the charges.

According to the EACC, Mwadama was freed on Ksh. 3 million bails until the case's mention on June 8, 2023.
