The family of Geoffrey Otieno Okuto, the controversial Bodyguard to CS Aisha Jumwa, the Public Service Cabinet Secretary, after his wife committed suicide, is in deep sorrow.

On Monday, November 7, Okuto's wife allegedly killed herself in an unexplained manner.

The new information came out after Jumwa sent a letter to the DPP asking to be cleared of murder charges. Jumwa and Mr. Okuto were accused of killing Ngumbao Jola in 2019 after fighting broke out during the Ganda Ward by-elections.

If DPP Haji and the court let her plead, she would go to court against her bodyguard, who was thought to be her ex-boyfriend.

Controversy surrounding the muscular bodyguard is nothing new.

Over the years, he has gotten into trouble with the law because of what the police call the "misuse" of guns.

After Jumwa reportedly deserted him for another guy and moved Sh10 million from their joint account to her personal account in 2019, he was detained for attempting to take his own life.

Shortly after joining President William Ruto's UDA camp, Jumwa called the romance off.

She dated Okuto for two years before she left him.

Before Jumwa hired him as a bodyguard, he was Kidero's driver and personal assistant when he was the governor of Nairobi.
