Patent №:11678321 (June 13, 2023) – Flow-based processing in wireless systems. The WTRU uses matching rules to identify data units belonging to a flow and perform flow-based processing. This enables routing, resource allocation, and management of functions based on the flow’s associated policy.

Kuo-Cheng Ching

Patent №:11676866 (June 13, 2023) –Semiconductor arrangement and method of manufacture. A semiconductor arrangement method involves forming a fin in a semiconductor layer. A gate dielectric layer containing a high-k material is formed over the fin. A second gate dielectric layer, made of a different dielectric material than the first, is formed in the gate cavity.

Mark S Olsson

He is Seescan Founder & CEO. Mark became interested in inventing deep sea cameras at the age of 16 and has been at it ever since.

In 1981, he was a member of the group’s expedition team that searched for the ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic.

Mark created DeepSea Power & Light out of a desire to develop products that would help open up the deep ocean to everyone and help scientists study it. Mark says that his “aspirations and dreams have been achieved. My products have visited the deepest parts of the ocean and found a home in intriguing places around the world.”

The first product that emerged from his workshop garage was an underwater battery to power deep sea instruments called a ‘SeaBattery’. A few years later, Mark developed incandescent lights for Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), followed by underwater video cameras and special high-intensity 400 to 1200-watt metal halide (HMI) gas discharge lights.

The powerful HMI lights were used for historical shipwreck explorations, such as the R.M.S. Titanic expedition and for major motion picture filming, including the movie Titanic.

Patent №:11674906 (June 13, 2023) – Self-leveling inspection systems and methods. This system includes a camera head with an image sensor and orientation sensor, along with a signal processing module. The processor receives images and orientation signals, generating a second image based on the orientation information. This system compensates for camera head orientation, enhancing inspection efficiency and accuracy.

Bradley E Marshall

He is Senior Principal Engineer – Identity and Access Management at Amazon.

Mr. Marshall received B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Idaho in 1987.

Patent №:11677853 (June 13, 2023) –Managing preloading of data on client systems.
This technique manages data preloading for client systems with local storage and persistent data caches. Other data groups are preloaded based on user interactions, ensuring minimum functionality or specific requirements for the client system.

Kishore Kumar Muchherla

Over 17 years of experience in SSD media architecture, NAND flash and PSRAM.

Mr. Muchherla participated in a panel talk at International Memory Workshop 2022 conference.

He modelled data flows within SSD by developing an FTL mode; developed data caching, garbage collection and data segregation policies.

Hands-on experience in NAND algorithms, electrical failure analysis, testing, and qualification. Developed media management algorithms and error recovery flow.

Patent №:11675529 (June 13, 2023) – Threshold voltage determination for calibrating voltage bins of a memory device.

Patent №:11676664 (June 13, 2023) – Voltage bin selection for blocks of a memory device after power up of the memory device.

Jonathan P Ive

London-born designer Jonathan Ive is the Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple, reporting directly to the CEO.

Since 1996 he has been responsible for leading a design team widely regarded as one of the world’s best.

Recognized with numerous design awards, Apple products are featured in the permanent collections of museums

worldwide including MOMA in New York and the Pompidou in Paris.

He is known for being the Principal Designer of the iMac, Powerbook, MacBook, iPod, iPhone and iPad.

Ive holds a Bachelor of Arts and an Honorary Doctorate from Newcastle Polytechnic.

In 2003 he was named Designer of the Year by the Design Museum London and awarded the title Royal Designer for Industry by The Royal Society of Arts.

Patent №:11675388 (June 13, 2023) – Portable computer unified top case. The top case assembly for a portable computer includes a single-part unified top case that serves as both the enclosure and structural frame. Components such as keyboards, touchpads, circuit boards, and drives are mounted beneath the top case. Typically made from machined aluminum.

Zhifei Fan

She received her B.A. and M.S. from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China, in 1997 and 2000; her Ph.D. degree from Colorado State University in 2006, all in electrical engineering.

In 2007, she joined Qualcomm as a senior systems engineer.

Fan research interests include information theory, capacity, diversity, space-time coding; channel estimation in multi-user, multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems.

Patent №:11678379 (June 13, 2023) – Physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission in new radio (NR). Wireless systems use random access signalling, where a user equipment (UE) sends a signal to a base station (BS) in a frequency band. The signal’s length, in time or frequency, is determined by the subcarrier spacing (SCS) in that band. The BS receives the signal and responds to the UE.

Volkan Sevindik

He is the Founder of Digimetrik. Global Head of ORAN-Radio Access Network at Rakuten.

Since starting his career in 2003, he held management, consultant and engineering positions in Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia, Sprint, Vodafone, Turkcell and in start-up companies Airvana Inc, and Azimuth Systems.

He is the author of several journal papers, books, and conference articles on fast-evolving wireless technologies. Dr. Sevindik is actively involved in industry forums, associations and conferences worldwide.

He received his Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Sevindik is a recipient of a number of industry, academic and corporate awards. His interests are arts, sports, and science.

Patent №:11678226 (June 13, 2023) – Methods and apparatus for providing wireless services to a customer premises. This invention enables data services for customer devices. It involves switching modes based on a condition detected by a wireless base station at the customer premises. Once in the second mode, the base station receives a data service request from a user device and responds by transmitting data packets through both a first and second transmission path.

Chih-Hao Liu

He was born in Chiayi, Taiwan, on December 5, 1980. Liu received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2003; an M.S. degree in communication engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2005; the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from California Institute of Technology, in 2013.
