Who Are the All-Time Top India-based Inventors?

We’re pleased to share the top 50 most prolific India-based inventors, based on USPTO utility patent data analyzed between January 4, 2005, through November 22, 2022.

These insights were derived directly from USPTO data, publicly available LinkedIn data and select trusted third-party sites. Where no information was readily available, we’ve left notations blank but the ranking intact. (It’s our hope we can connect with these individuals so that we may offer some background to complement their names.)

We will monitor USPTO patent grant updates and attempt to make any modifications where the need for reordering of the stack rankings arise. At a minimum, quarterly updates will occur. In the event of a shared number of Patents, the patent holder with the most recent patent grant will be listed first.

To the best of our ability, we believe the following to be correct. If someone’s current location is not India or their current employer is no longer correct, we’d love the support in righting our content!

Finally, in the post below we offer some links to the inventors’ pages; in the top right nav bar, please peruse the inventors and their:

  • full collaboration trees
  • full collaboration maps
  • personal word tag clouds
  • and other inventor insights at IDiyas
