Vinicius Jr Accuses LaLiga and Spain of Racism for Chants Following Red Card

¡Se acerca el verano! Esto significa que podremos disfrutar del tiempo al aire libre, de la playa y de la piscina.

Summer is coming! This means we can enjoy time outdoors, at the beach and the pool.

Vinicius Jr. highlighted the fans who were insulting him, leading to the match being halted for 10 minutes. This then resulted in a confrontation between him and the Valencia players, resulting in him being sent off in the second half.

“It was not the first time, nor the second, nor the third. Racism is normal in LaLiga. The competition considers it normal, the federation considers it normal and the rivals encourage it,” Vinicius posted on Twitter after the game.

The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi now belongs to the racists.

A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and which I love, but which has unfortunately come to be known in the world as exporting the image of a racist country. I am truly sorry for those Spaniards who disagree, but sadly, in Brazil, Spain is seen as a country of racists.

“I am resolute in my stance against racists,” he declared. “No matter the distance, I will fight for what is right.”

LaLiga has requested all available images in order to investigate the incident.

In a statement, it was said, “If any hate crime is identified, we will take the appropriate legal action.”

LaLiga president Javier Tebas responded to Vinicius Jr’s comments by asking him to be more informed about what can be done in cases of racism.

“We attempted to explain to you what LaLiga can do in cases of racism, but unfortunately you have not appeared for either of the two dates that you requested,” he said on Twitter.

Before you criticize and slander LaLiga, make sure you are properly informed, @Vinijr. Do not let yourself be manipulated, and ensure that you understand each other’s competences and the work that we have been doing together,” he added.

Messages of Support

People around the world have been sending messages of support and encouragement to those affected by the recent disaster. From community members to celebrities, people have been offering words of hope and strength in the face of adversity. With the power of social media, these messages of support have been shared far and wide, reminding those affected that they are not alone.

Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva showed his support for the player and called on soccer’s world governing body FIFA to put an end to racism in football.

I would like to show my support for our Brazilian player, a young man who was able to ascend to success despite a difficult beginning in life and is now a contender for being one of the greatest players in the world, and the best at Real Madrid. Unfortunately, he is met with hostility in every stadium he plays in,” he said during a press conference.

I believe it is essential that FIFA, La Liga, and leagues in other countries take tangible measures to combat fascism and racism in football stadiums. We cannot allow these ideologies to prevail.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti also voiced his disapproval of the incident on social media.

Today has been a somber day at Mestalla, where a group of fans have demonstrated their most undesirable behavior. It is time to cease discussing and act resolutely. Racism has no place in football or in society. NO TO RACISM ANYWHERE!

Vinicius Jr’s team mate and fellow Brazil international, Eder Militao, showed his support for the forward.

It’s a disgrace! Suffering racism and then being sent off for trying to defend yourself–how much longer do we have to endure such injustice?

The president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues, expressed his support for the 22-year-old player in a message.

“How long will we have to endure episodes like the one we just witnessed in La Liga during the 21st century? There can be no joy where there is racism. Skin colour should no longer be a source of discomfort,” he said on social media.

The Brazilian Ministry of Racial Affairs has declared on Twitter that the Brazilian government will not tolerate any form of racism, both domestically and abroad. Furthermore, they have stated that they will be informing the Spanish authorities and LaLiga of the incident involving Vinicius.

The Spanish league has previously lodged complaints of racist chanting or insults against Vinicius Jr, the latest of which was a claim before a court in Mallorca after fans were filmed racially abusing the forward.

La policía española también está investigando un posible delito de odio contra Vinicius Jr después de que un maniquí con su camiseta de número 20 fuera colgado de un puente fuera de la sede de entrenamiento del Real Madrid en enero.
