The Impact Rankings measure the performance of leading universities on achieving the SDGs. The rankings are based on a range of university-level data, including university-wide policies and practices, research, teaching and learning, community engagement, and operations.

The rankings, which are compiled by Times Higher Education (THE) in partnership with UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), show that universities are making progress in terms of sustainability and are well placed to be an integral part of the solution to our global challenges.

The Impact Rankings measure the performance of leading universities in achieving the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The rankings are based on a range of university-level data, including university-wide policies and practices, research, teaching and learning, community engagement, and operations. The results demonstrate that universities are making progress in terms of sustainability and are well positioned to play an essential role in finding solutions to the world’s most pressing global challenges.

The Impact Rankings provide an invaluable tool for universities to assess their performance, identify areas for improvement and set their own sustainable development targets. Universities across the world are now more aware of the need to incorporate the SDGs into their strategies and operations, and the rankings are a great way to incentivize them to do so.

The Impact Rankings are a testament to the fact that universities are playing an increasingly important role in the global fight for sustainability and are committed to tackling the world’s most pressing issues. By providing transparent university-level data, these rankings will help increase accountability and drive progress towards a more sustainable future.

The 17 Goals comprise no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land, peace, justice, and strong institutions, and partnerships for goals.
