Your role

As a Service Design Engineer you will provide pre-contract technical expertise and input to sales teams, customers and bids/proposals. Leading the design of the agreed service solution, to ensure that customer requirements and Implementation Lead Times are met.

What you’ll do

• Provides a binding assessment on Power, Cooling & Square Meter availability at the Budgetary quote phase.
• Provides a technical design for a new opportunity, amendment, and/or COF and ensures that overall customer requirements and implementation lead times can be met.
• Leads and oversees the Service Design process. Plans and coordinates required resources and capabilities, and acts as the key interface with Capacity Management, Facility Management, Security, DTEG, and Sales (first come first served) to ensure solution implementation lead times and resources are achievable, and design meets current and future business requirements.
• Ensures that corporate design principles with respect to standardisation, power, cooling, and place are followed and reflected in the designs.
• Defines costs (incl. CAPEX) and/or suitable alternatives and their associated risks.
• Adhere to the QHSSE Responsibilities Matrix
• Approves technical design at the Service Design function and associated caveats.

What you’ll need

• Bachelor level (e.g., a degree in science, engineering, or related discipline or equivalent)
• Work experience in the data centre sector or telecommunications for at least 3-5 years
• Specialised depth and breadth of technical expertise ITIL Expert Certified
