25th September 2023 was a sad day in Japan. Our favorite character from Jujutsu Kaisen faced death in the most gruesome way possible. The world was shocked when Gojo Satoru died in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236. Previously, there were a lot of instances where we have seen how Gojo dodged every fatal blow. He managed to cheat death with his skills and charisma. But this time, the fans had their worst nightmare. Till now, we are shocked and still cannot accept this ending. So, how did Gojo Satoru die? How could someone possibly overpower him?

For those of you who have not read Jujutsu Kaisen yet, let me tell you all. The answer to how did Gojo Satoru died lies in Sukuna’s trump card. Mahoraga’s Slash overpowered Gojo’s Infinity Technique and cut him in half. Through all these years, we all have thought that Gojo Satoru is invincible through his Infinity Technique. But Sukuna managed to keep his trump card hidden. Since they were fighting, in Chapter 234, we saw a dangerous slash from Mahoraga. The slash actually cut the whole fabric of this world and space – that’s why Gojo’s Infinity Technique fell short. He was left cut, standing still until he fell.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Breathtaking Rivalry Between Gojo And Sukuna

Shortly called as JJK by the otakus, the manga tells us about a world where every living being is giving off cursed energy. It is normal but this should be controlled in order to stay free from the curses. The initial phase kicks off with Yuji Itadori taking up responsibilities after his grandfather dies. Megumi Fushiguro is a powerful sorcerer of Jujutsu and she lives to protect it. For her protection, Yuji eats a rotten finger but becomes a host of Ryomen Sukuna, who happens to be a very powerful evil spirit. 

Yuji was completely unaware of this. Now, sorcerers must do their best to eliminate him as well as Yuji. But Megumi stops all of them since surprisingly, Yuji still had control over his own body. Now enters Gojo Satoru – he is the teacher of Megumi. Gojo analyses Yuji’s condition and proposes to take him under his training. He will train him hard and make him able to consume all twenty of Sukuna’s fingers. Otherwise, the curse would not go away. But soon, evil sorcerers attack the Jujutsu sorcerers – Kenjaki locks Gojo away through Geto’s body.

After a lot of twists and turns, Gojo ultimately faces Sukuna. In fact, Gojo and Sukuna’s rivalry has gained Jujutsu Kaisen huge popularity recently. Sukuna has managed to regain full access and now, Gojo had to face the Ten Shadows of Megumi along with Sukuna. Gojo defeated both of them but soon, Sukuna revived himself and launched his trump attack. The Mahoraga Card deploys a fatal Slash – this was meant to cut the world in half so, Gojo’s Infinity Technique did not stand a chance. In the end, Sukuna stood over Gojo’s sliced lifeless body.

Will Gojo Ever Come Back? Exploring A Bunch Of Fan-Theories

You know, whenever a fan’s favourite character dies in a comic, movie, manga, or anime, it breaks thousands of hearts. It feels almost like a personal loss – over the years we entangle so much of ourselves with our favorite on-screen characters that when they leave us, we cannot take it. When Gojo Satoru died, the otaku world was shocked. People cussed the creators, made wild fan theories, spammed requests to bring back Gojo, and mourned his loss.

A lot of JJK fans are out there who still believe that Gojo Satoru will come back. Some of them believe that Gojo will apply the reverse curse method to heal himself. People are also claiming that Kenjaku will possess Gojo’s body. In this way, he will have easy access to the Six Eyes. He will also be able to get Limitless, the most powerful curse.
