Animes like Bleach, have a history of keeping fans waiting. It seems like Trinity Seven is set to join the list and why, the makers are yet to reveal. Directed by Hiroshi Nishikori, the anime follows a teenager, Arata Kasuga, whose life is distorted by a sudden apocalypse. Living alone in a destroyed world and losing his childhood best friends comes hard for Arata. What happens after the destruction throws his life entirely off-kilter beyond his imagination.
This romantic comedy anime has been appraised widely and has witnessed one original video animation (OVA) along with two films. Yet, Trinity Seven Season 2 remains an entangled mystery. Trinity Seven Season 2 Release Date
Adapted from the manga written by Kenji Saitō and illustrated by Akinari Nao, Trinity Seven premiered on October 8, 2014, and continued for two months till December 23. After four years since the manga was published, the anime aired on several channels in Japan and later on Crunchyroll and HiDive. A couple of months later, a special episode was released on March 25, 2015. Two years later, the first Trinity Seven film was released followed by a sequel in 2019.
It was speculated that Trinity Seven Season 2 was in production in 2018. It was scheduled to hit screens in 2019 but so far, no such thing has happened. The makers didn’t confirm the sequel and are yet to comment. It seems like those speculations were false and Trinity Seven Season 2 hasn’t been planned yet. However, since the manga is still ongoing, the chances of a sequel aren’t wholly diminished. If the makers approve the sequel, expect Trinity Seven Season 2 to premiere in 2025.

Trinity Seven Season 1 Quick Recap
Arata is your typical reckless teenager, meandering around and harbouring feelings for his childhood friend, Hijri Kasuga. He lives in a small town, living a normal life when fate and the mages decide to flip the world. The glimmering sun darkens and the entire town is destroyed by what the anime (and the manga) describes as the Breakdown Phenomenon. Everyone around Arata disappears but before Hijri could vanish, she hangs a magical grimoire around his neck and prevents his death. However, Arata doesn’t consider it a blessing but a curse instead.
Fortunately–or unfortunately as I see it–he forgets everything and everyone. He’s then approached by Lillith Asami, a mage who is trying to investigate the blackout, who helps him get his memories back. Lillith accidentally breaks Hijri’s spell and the grimoire reveals that Hijri is alive after the spell is broken. Arata is presented with two opportunities; he could either die or hand over the grimoire to Lillith. He chooses none and joins an elite magic school to join the Trinity Seven–a group of mages who harbour seven unique powers.
Trinity Seven Season 2 Storyline
On his quest to join the Trinity Seven, Arata has only one motivation–to save Hijri somehow. Lillith is initially wary of Arata’s endurance but is soon convinced of his capabilities. As Arata keeps meeting the elite mages, he becomes the centre of attention. He manages to find Hijri but eventually, he figures out she is an Iscariot mage with no body of her own. At the end of Season 1, Hijri disappears forever, Arata has become a great magician himself and it is a happy ending for Arata, Lillith and all his fans.
Since this is a fantasy anime, the sequel has multiple possible story arcs. Trinity Seven Season 2 could possibly portray Arata against some otherworldly enemy or cause another blackout. Of course, Kenji and Akinar’s manga is always available for Hiroshi to adapt that is if he’s planning on a sequel.
