Echo 3 Season 1 dive into quintessential relationship dynamics between three intertwined lives. Amber (Jessica Ann Collins) is a leading biologist who embarks on a journey to the Columbian border for a research project. She is abducted by some anti-government terrorists. The CIA keeps assuring her brother Bambi (Luke Evans) and her husband Prince( Michael Huisman) that help is on its way. But their reassurances are all in vain. So, to save the person who keeps these alpha officers of a squad entitled Echo 3, both Prince and Bambi set out to save Amber.

In the finale episode of Echo 3, Amber was almost saved but Prince and Bambi missed by a millisecond. So, Echo 3 Season 2 has a solid cliffhanger to pick up and elaborate on. The sequel will portray more twists, suspense-fueled scenes and emotion-laden drama!

Echo 3 Season 1 Review: Not A Mediocre Adaptation But Not Something To Hit Home Either

The series is led by a star-studded cast ensemble including Luke Evans and Michael Huisman. Its inspiration, When Heroes Fly, is one of the most highly-appraised Israeli war-based series. Combine the above-stated two facts and the expectations rise higher for Echo 3. While I cannot claim that the series is a major disappointment, I cannot applaud it for being memorable either. The storyline is so generalized, the only saving grace for the series is its direction. 

Had the series not felt realistically riveting, Echo 3 wouldn’t have received a 6 on 10 from me. While Jessica is a brilliant actress, standing against these huge names isn’t an easy feat. The effortless approach Jessica took to adapting Amber remains the highlight of Echo 3. And yes, the direction and the casting choice cannot be faulted at all. Overall, the Echo 3 is a riveting one-time watch but not something that you would remember a few months after watching it.
