6ix9ine Speaks Out Following Dominican Republic Arrest: ‘I Am in Good Spirits

6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has broken his silence after his Arrest in the Dominican Republic earlier this month, assuring fans that he is in good spirits despite the legal ordeal.

The Brooklyn rapper was arrested on Friday, October 13, for an alleged assault on two men in connection with an incident involving his girlfriend.

Footage that surfaced online reportedly showed 6ix9ine and his entourage arriving at a producer’s residence in the Dominican Republic and quickly departing the scene.

Although the alleged altercation itself was not captured on camera, authorities issued a warrant for the rapper’s arrest on charges of “blows and injuries, and threats.”

Criminal lawyer Felix Portes revealed that the “GUMMO” hitmaker was attempting to board a private jet to leave the country when authorities halted the plane.

After a brief period of uncertainty regarding his whereabouts, he was eventually taken into police custody, with footage of his arrest and a photo of his mugshot circulating online.

6ix9ine took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, October 18, to share a message written in Spanish.

Translated into English, the message reads: “First, I want to thank God that I am in good health and well taken care of, and thank you to everyone who has been praying for me.

“Thank you for your support; I love you very much. I feel so happy to see you all showing full support. On the day I am released from jail, I want to give a little gift to the neighborhood of Vega.”

The message continues: “I will host a free concert in Vega with Romo, and everything will be free. Thank you for your support. I will repay it. I love you.”

The recent assault arrest is not 6ix9ine’s first encounter with the law this year. In August, the 27-year-old was apprehended by police in Palm Beach County, Florida, for failing to appear in court.

The arrest was linked to three traffic tickets the rapper had received two months earlier after he was pulled over for speeding.

Authorities claimed that he was driving at 135 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Florida Turnpike and issued citations for driving an unregistered vehicle and having no car insurance.

6ix9ine spent approximately three hours in police custody before being released on a $2,000 bond.

Known for his divisive presence in the world of hip-hop, 6ix9ine has continued to release music. During the summer, he collaborated with Kodak Black on the track “Shaka Laka,” which garnered criticism from some of their peers, most notably Boosie Badazz.

Boosie expressed his dismay on Instagram Live after the song’s release, saying, “That dude Yak messed me up. I wonder how all them Zoes feel, man? I know them Zoes messed up right now.

“I know the state of Florida messed up right now. This guy has no morals, no principles. Damn. I thought that little guy wasn’t like that, man. He’s not a street guy at all.”

He added, “He hurt me with that one, messed me up. I don’t care how much money you give.”
