Ed Sheeran shared an amusing tale of his encounter with Snoop Dogg during a recent appearance on Conan O’Brien’s “Needs a Friend” podcast, published on Tuesday, October 3. The Grammy Award-winning singer recounted a memorable experience in Melbourne earlier this year when he found himself in the company of Snoop Dogg and actor Russell Crowe in Australia.

Ed explained that he rarely gets the opportunity to see Snoop Dogg perform in England, so when the chance arose in Melbourne, he eagerly attended the concert with his wife and mother-in-law. He recounted Snoop’s friendly introduction to his mother-in-law, addressing her as “Wassup, Queen.” Ed also mentioned his close friendship with Russell Crowe, who is well-acquainted with Snoop Dogg and often engages in what Ed called “intense smoke-offs” with the rap icon.

Ed humorously described the scene in the dressing room, where Snoop and Russell were indulging in a series of blunt sessions. As someone who doesn’t typically smoke, Ed found himself in a situation where he felt compelled to partake, if only to say he had smoked with Snoop Dogg.

He narrated the experience, saying, “So I have a bit and I’m like, ‘I don’t feel too bad. This feels good!’ So I have a bit more. Then I have a bit more. Then I have a bit more. Oh my God. I just remember looking at him and being like, ‘I can’t see right now!’”

In other news related to Snoop Dogg, Variety reported that the rap legend is set to join other celebrities, including Charlie D’Amelio, Tom Brady, and Paris Hilton, in the initial launch of AI chatbots on Facebook and Instagram.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (the parent company of Facebook and Instagram), emphasized that these chatbots would go beyond answering queries, focusing on entertainment and facilitating connections with others. In the initial phase, these chatbots will respond to text queries, with the capability for voice interactions set to be introduced in 2024.

Snoop Dogg has also made waves in the metaverse, as a fan once paid $450,000 to become his virtual neighbor. He has been actively involved in creating his interactive world in The Sandbox, an Ethereum-based platform for developing and monetizing online spaces and gaming experiences, joining the ranks of companies like Adidas, Atari, and deadmau5 in this digital realm.
