Over 300,000 Expected to Attend International Trade Fair in Kampala

The forthcoming international trade Fair at the Uganda Manufacturers Show Grounds in Kampala is projected to attract more than 300,000 visitors, as revealed by Ezra Muhumuza, the Executive Director of the Uganda Manufacturers Association. He shared this anticipation during a press briefing in preparation for the event, scheduled to run from October 3rd to 10th at the UMA Show Grounds.

This year’s trade fair will be inaugurated by President Yoweri Museveni, with the closing ceremony featuring Peter Mathuki, the Secretary-General of the East African Community.

The week-long trade exhibition will showcase the participation of over 100 local and international exhibitors. Representatives from 30 countries, including China and South Africa, will be in attendance.

Ezra Muhumuza further highlighted that exhibitors have been categorized into small, medium, and large manufacturers. The entrance fee will be set at 10,000 Ugandan Shillings, encouraging Ugandans to explore and take advantage of product discounts of up to 60%.

To ensure a secure environment for all attendees, SSP Gordon Arinaitwe, the Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Commander, confirmed round-the-clock security deployment. Two designated parking areas, at the Phillip Omondi Stadium and Nakawa KCCA Grounds, will be available for visitors.

This year’s trade fair is centered around the theme “Driving Manufacturing and Trade Efficiency through Digital Transformation and Innovation.”
