Ugandan rapper Jocelyn Tracey Keko has made a triumphant return to her home country after spending over five years in Canada, where she sought new opportunities.

On a Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 PM, Keko announced her arrival in Kampala, Uganda, by sharing a photograph of the residence where she is currently residing.

Taking to Twitter, the winner of the 2011 Most Gifted East African Video award at the Channel O Music Video Awards tweeted, “Greetings, Kampala! I’ve arrived.”

Her tweet immediately caught the attention of netizens and reputable online blogs, who warmly welcomed her back to the “Pearl Of Africa.”

After a prolonged period of silence, Keko resurfaced in the headlines of local tabloids following a troubling appearance on Instagram Live.

Subsequently, it was revealed that she had been grappling with drug addiction and depression, but she has since been on a path to recovery and appears to be in a much-improved mental state.

The name Keko holds profound meaning for many African music enthusiasts, especially those who appreciate hip-hop and rap. She burst onto the scene in 2010 with “Fallen Heroes,” and her star continued to rise over time.

At the height of her career, no female rapper could rival her, whether in terms of physical presence or musical prowess. She possessed an incredible flow, and her personality spoke volumes for a brand she had painstakingly built.

Keko played a pivotal role in the hip-hop revolution within the Ugandan music landscape, and her contribution to the genre is immeasurable. Her lyrical prowess prompted many young listeners to reconsider their playlist favorites.

With hit songs like “How We Do It” (featuring Radio and Weasel), “Let Me Go,” “Alwoo,” “In The Air” (featuring Angella Katatumba), “Fly Solo,” “Mutima,” “Ready,” “Make You Dance,” among others, Keko was destined for greatness, and her accomplishments spoke for themselves.

Welcome back home, Keko!
