Tory Lanez Sentenced To TEN Years In Prison For Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez will be serving 10 years behind bars on felony convictions for shooting and wounding Megan Thee Stallion.

Tory Lanez Will Spend 120 Months Behind Bars

At this point, there is no question that Tory — whose real name is Daystar Peterson — was convicted of firing off a gun on the night that Meg the Stallion was shot in her feet and now that the trial is over and sentencing has taken place, Peterson’s next move will be getting ready to report to prison.

Prosecutors initially asked the judge to give the rapper 13 years behind bars. In court, they accused him of re-traumatized Megan with social media posts regarding the case and inciting anger towards her by doing it.

Tory’s lawyers, on the other hand, were hoping that he would essentially get a slap on the wrist via probation, and be released from jail to enter a substance abuse program. They argued that the evidence against him was “questionable at best.”

Tory Lanez Supported By Fans And Other Musicians

Through it all, the rapper has been locked up since December, when a jury found him guilty of three felonies: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

The scene was traumatic for Tory’s son who has to witness his grandfather act out emotionally after the verdict was read and Tory had the cuffs slapped on. Tory’s father described the judicial system as “wicked.” Megan also had her say in that trial and it revealed just how deep her trauma runs after the incident took over her life and her social media timeline.

Fellow rapper Iggy Azalea jumped in to try and help keep Tory out of prison alongside his father. It was reported that the “Fancy” rapper wrote a letter of support for Tory. It wasn’t only her either, over 70 people wrote support letters for the 31-year-old “It Doesn’t Matter” rapper.

Megan Thee Stallion Was Embarrassed By The Whole Situation

Meg shared a detailed account of the night, testifying that Tory fired the gun at the back of her feet and shouted for her to dance while she walked away from an SUV they were traveling in with her now-former friend, Kelsey Harris.

An interesting fact that had fans super involved was that they were all attending a house party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home. The dramatic trail took a left turn when Tory had this to say while being escorted out of the courtroom and back to his prison cell: “I could be your son. I could be your brother.”

Megan Thee Stallion Is Back Making Music Again

MEGA

Meanwhile, on Meg’s side of life, the rapper is back from her mini-break and making music again. In fact, it was just yesterday that she announced her new project! Okay, hold up no music yet but she is in a musical.

The film Dicks: The Musical is about a pair of salesmen who find out their long-lost twins. This could be a great opportunity for Meg to drop music without actually dropping new music. The A24 musical hasn’t given too much detail on Meg’s role but in the trailer, she appears to be the boss for the two lead characters.

As for Tory, maybe he will continue to release music from behind bars. All gun-related activity aside, he had a few bops this might be one of those moments where we separate the artist from the BS.
