Actress Jennifer Lawrence has preferred starring in R-rated films following her recent role in the raunchy comedy “No Hard Feelings.”

Known for her diverse filmography and ability to bring characters to life, Lawrence declared the genre as her “sweet spot” after starring as an Uber driver in the movie.

Lawrence, who has captivated audiences with her performances in various genres, from the dystopian action of “The Hunger Games” franchise to the psychological drama of “Silver Linings Playbook,” joked about her desire to delve into R-rated films only.

The 32-year-old actress’s revelation comes after starring as an Uber driver in her latest film, “No Hard Feelings,” in which she portrayed a bold and unapologetic character with a penchant for pushing social boundaries.

During a chat with Cameron Diaz for Interview Magazine, Lawrence shared that she’d always wanted to do a comedy, but finding one funny enough was an ordeal.

“It was a blast. I’ve always wanted to do comedy, and I’ve been asked a million times,” she admitted. “I was never against it, but you’ve seen the movies that come out. I don’t want to name anything specifically, but there hasn’t been anything funny.”

In her chat with Diaz, the actress boldly proclaimed her love for R-rated films, stating that they are her “sweet spot” for unleashing her creativity.

Diaz had quipped that hard R-rated comedy movies were something Lawrence was “born to do” before adding that it “might be your sweet spot.” Lawrence replied, “If that’s my sweet spot, then I don’t ever want to do anything else.”

The 32-year-old Oscar-winning actress publicly praised Diaz, branding her the reigning “icon of R-rated comedies.”

“No Hard Feelings,” directed by acclaimed director Gene Stupnitsky, follows the story of Lawrence’s unabashedly uninhibited character, Maddie, who responded to a Craigslist ad from a wealthy couple seeking a date for their introverted 19-year-old son Percy. However, he proved to be a challenge for her.

She’s Not Keen On Working With Method Actors

In a recent appearance on the “Hot Ones” podcast, the “Passengers” actress was asked about the challenges she faces working with actors who have a different acting style.

She expressed her nervousness about collaborating with actors who immerse themselves deeply into their characters, often known as method actors. While acknowledging their commitment and dedication to their craft, Lawrence admitted to feeling a sense of trepidation due to the unpredictable approach she needs to maintain with them.

“I would be nervous to work with someone who’s Method [acting],” she explained. “Because I would have no idea how to talk to them, ’cause I have to be in character? That would make me nervous.”

Method actors are performers who employ the Stanislavski system or method acting technique, a school of acting that emphasizes emotional authenticity and immersion in the character. They strive to create realistic and deeply layered performances by drawing on their emotions and personal experiences.

In her chat with Sean Evans on the “Hot Ones” podcast, Lawrence credited Christian Bale as a significant influence on her approach to getting into character. She admitted that Bale’s way of committing to his roles inspired her to explore new depths in her performances.

“I had always been very on/off on/off until I did ‘American Hustle’ and worked with Christian Bale, who I noticed when the camera started rolling, and the crew started preparing, and it would be about 10 seconds to action, he [Bale] would start getting ready,” the actress said. “I saw that and was like, ‘That seems like an excellent idea.’ So then I started to do that.”

Lawrence was also asked to reveal the ordinary skill she has learned for roles. “I learned how to pick locks on Red Sparrow. I haven’t used it, but to know that I could is cool,” she said, adding that she learned how to hold a falcon for “Serena.”
