Babes Wodumo Erupts Over Gayton McKenzie’s Statement On Mampintsha – Viral Video
South African musician Mampintsha might be dead but he has got a widow who would not hesitate to fight for his honour even in death. Babes Wodumo is that woman. This much was exemplified recently when Gayton McKenzie mentioned his name during a funeral.
The whole controversy stemmed from a speech that Gayton made during the funeral of Pastor Dawan Gordon in Randfontein. In his speech, he made comparisons between the government’s treatment of Mampintsha and AKA at death.
He claimed the government treats black people and coloured people differently, with the blacks getting the better treatment. He noted how the government had offered to bury Mampintsha, a popular musician, at death and also help the family.
In contrast, he claimed that AKA, himself a popular musician, was not accorded the same courtesy and his family was not helped as well. He claimed this was the case because AKA was coloured whereas Mampintsha was black. The video of him making that statement popped online and went rival in no time.
Gayton McKenzie: “When Mampintsha died the govt jumped like popcorn to bury him but when AKA died the govt didn't jump they refuse to help the family, The difference between AKA & Mampintsha is that Mampintsha is black and AKA is coloured.” pic.twitter.com/YwAQJoZczt

One of those who commented on the video was Babes Wodumo. He accused Gayton of trying to use her husband’s name to win votes. His action had displeased her in no small way.
