There’s reason to rejoice in the Demon Slayer fandom because Aniplex has made the announcement that Season 4 of Kimetsu no Yaiba will be premiering soon. Right after the premiere of the Season 3 finale, the announcement of Season 4 being in the works for Demon Slayer fans comes as a treat. Although the release date of the fourth season hasn’t been declared yet, viewers can rest easy knowing an anime as popular as this isn’t going to be canceled. Almost as popular as Bleach or Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer Season 4 shall be returning with the Hashira, aka Pillar Training Arc, where we’ll meet the other Hashiras whom we’ve only met once. Although consisting of only nine chapters (128–136), this arc is a crucial necessity for the slayers because that’ll be their final training before they go on to face the king of demons. So, without any further ado, let’s look at things that we can expect in Season 4 of Demon Slayer.

The biggest attraction of the Hashira Training arc shall be Tanjiro going to meet Gyomei Himejima to train in the ways of a Hashira and indirectly getting to know about the Stone, Wind, and Serpent Hashiras. Although blind, Himejima is considered the strongest of the Hashiras, and his chained mace is a devastating weapon that manga readers will be acquainted with. In this season, we’ll get to know more about this massive pillar who loves training future cadres over fighting, but, if need be, is a force to be reckoned with. Tanjiro and his friends Zenitsu and Inosuke will have to put in everything they’ve got if they wish to succeed in the extensive and rigorous training that Himejima demands of his students. Will the young slayers be able to learn the ways of the Hashiras? We’ll need to wait until Season 4 comes out. It’s also the season where we get to know more about Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro and Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa, two of the characters who were only briefly present during the first Hashira gathering.

It’s also the arc where the Hashiras themselves begin training rigorously to gain the mark that appeared on Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito. Considered a symbol to appear on the swordsmen who could kill demons, this mark shall be the goal of every Hashira because Kibutsuji Muzan won’t be sitting around anymore. Now that Nezuko has successfully learned to withstand the sun, Muzan will go after her to gain her powers to face the sun without being burned up. Thus, it’s become imperative for the Hashiras to get stronger in the meantime so that they can be ready to take down Muzan and the remaining three Upper Moons, which are, unfortunately, the strongest to exist.

Additionally, Season 4 marks Muzan’s pursuit of Nezuko, and he’ll be pulling out all the stops to reach the little girl. The demon king has been known to be a ruthless and cruel monster that kills without hesitation and, at times, solely for his own pleasure. Kibutsuji had been the creator of all the demons that we see in this world. Muzan was scared of going out in the sun and getting incinerated. Thus, he’s the root of all evil, pain, and suffering that exists, and now he’ll go to even greater lengths to find the answer to his immortality because, at the end of the day, that’s all he cares about – how to not die. In a way, this season and hopefully the one after it will show just how much of a coward Muzan truly is and how casually he’ll kill if it means being able to live a year longer.

Finally, all eyes will be on Ufotable, the production studio responsible for bringing us some of the best animation we’ve seen in anime in recent times. From the stunning visuals of the fights, most remarkably during the fight against Daki and Gyutaro, to the amazing soundtracks they come up with, Ufotable deserves every accolade offered to it and more. One thing is for certain: the audience will be waiting impatiently until the fourth season is released to find answers to a lot of questions. Will Muzan find Nezuko before the Hashiras can step in, or will Tanjiro get strong enough to achieve a power similar to that of the pillars so that he can take on the demon king himself? Moreover, what if something goes wrong during the training period of the Hashiras and the young corps members? As we’ve seen, no moment is peaceful for too long in the world of Demon Slayers when something or other goes wrong eventually. With the final three Upper Moons getting impatient because they’re the only original Kizukis left, it’s possible that they might launch an attack on the Hashiras or the corps members. In that case, the young members like Tanjiro, Zenitsu, or Inosuke will not stand a chance against the likes of Kokushibo or Douma as they are now, so hopefully, they’ll be strong enough before such a situation does arrive.

There might be certain fan theories about what Muzan will be doing if he finds a cure for his inability to withstand sunlight. Will he truly be the invincible demon that can’t be killed because its greatest weakness has become invalid? Also, Lady Tamayo is bent on finding a solution that can take down the demon king, and that’s all she has focused on for the past hundreds of years. In case she does come up with a solution that can poison Muzan, that will not only help the slayers but also fasten their efforts in removing evil from this world. However, these are just theories for now, so in order to reach a conclusion, we’ll have to wait patiently till the next season comes out because we’ll be binge-watching it from Day 1.
