UKM Vice-Chancellor Scholarship 2023 -2024 (Fully Funded)

The Vice-Chancellor Gold and Silver Scholarships at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) are presently accepting applications. Prospective local and international students who want to enroll as full-time Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy (by research) students are eligible for these scholarships.

Gold and Silver Vice-Chancellor performance evaluations will be conducted throughout the study term (annually), and if the scholarship recipient does not meet the required Key Performance Indicator (KPI), the scholarship may be terminated or the Selection Committee may make another decision.

Scholarship Coverage

The UKM Vice-Chancellor Scholarship offers its beneficiaries the following benefits:

Gold Vice-Chancellor’s Award

  • Tuition (per semester), registration (once), service, and activity fees—including those for thesis and convocation—have all been waived.
  • A living allowance of RM3200 for PhDs and RM2200 for Masters is provided each month.
  • A monthly Accommodation allowance of RM 300.
  • For international, Sabahan, and Sarawakian applicants, one roundtrip economy class airline ticket from home to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and back from KLIA.
  • Visa fees during the duration of postgraduate studies (only for international students).

Silver Vice-Chancellor’s Award

  • Registration (once) and tuition (each semester) expenses were waived.
  • Ph.D. candidates receive a monthly living allowance of RM2000, while Masters candidates receive RM1500.
  • A monthly Accommodation allowance of RM 300.

Eligibility Criteria for UKM Vice-Chancellor Scholarship

Candidates for the UKM Vice-Chancellor Scholarship must meet all of the criteria listed below:

  • Required Language: English
  • Eligible Countries: All world countries

Gold Vice-Chancellor’s Award

  • The applicant must be registered by Research as a full-time postgraduate student.
  • Applicants for the MSc program must have earned a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a Distinction CGPA of at least 3.67, a First Class Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent, AND they must demonstrate their academic integrity.
  • Applicants for a Ph.D. must hold a Master’s degree or its equivalent from a respected university. They also need to have published at least TWO (2) articles in a journal ranked Q2 or higher as the first student author.

Silver Vice-Chancellor’s Award

  • The applicant must be registered as a research or mixed-mode full-time postgraduate student.
  • Applicants for the MSc program must have earned a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a Distinction CGPA of at least 3.67, a First Class Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent, AND they must demonstrate their academic integrity.
  • Applicants for the Ph.D. program are required to hold a Master’s degree or its equivalent from a respected university and to have published at least TWO (2) articles as the first author in journals with a Q3 or higher tier.
