Jeriq, a musician providing free school supplies.

Jeriq, a thousand schoolchildren and adults flocked to the Spar Mall in Enugu for fast-rising Nigerian musician Jeriq’s IYOO CARTEL Back to School Giveaway to get their presents and school supplies.

As soon as Jeriq and his entourage arrived at the venue, the event began. They helped him manage the crowd.

Jeriq, also known by his stage name Ani Jeremiah Chukwuebuka, is one of Nigeria’s most promising up-and-coming musicians.

Jeremiah, commonly known as “Jeriq Tha Hussler,” was the first kid born into a family of five on May 6, 1998. Jeriq, a native of Enugu, Nigeria, had an exceptionally street-focused childhood and started recording when he was 15 years old in studios in Ochanja Roundabout, Onitsha.

After completing his secondary education at College of the Immaculate Conception, C.I.C., Enugu State, Jeriq resided in the Coal City and started street hustling before being admitted to the Enugu State University of Technology, which he recently graduated from.

He made his official debut in 2015 with the widely popular hood track “IYOO,” and in 2018 he signed a recording contract with the Janded Music Empire, working with them to record more popular songs like “Last Last,” which featured Quincy.

Early in 2019, he started to appear in the town and on the streets with trap songs like “Paper,” “Police Matters,” “Hussle O Clock,” and other incredible tracks.

In 2020, Jeriq took things to the next level by working with another upcoming rapper from the East, ZORO, on his well-known trap song, “NO MORE NLEKA,” which was backed by an amazing video.

The 6-track EP “HOOD BOY DREAMS,” which he released after impressing music scouts, utterly unraveled his outstanding run.

JERIQ was surrounded by schoolchildren who chased his convoy from Roots Restaurant to the Spar Mall amid yelling fans, as seen in footage from the event.

People of all ages in Enugu City came out in large numbers to receive the gifts, which included shoes, backpacks, adidas slippers, Airforce 1 Nike, clothing from either NIKE or Iyoo Cartel Merch, and more. The packages were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and included everything from shoes to books, math sets, to T-shirts, pens, and other items.

Jeriq said “ this kids are the future leaders of tomorrow so I feel it’s right we start getting them ready for success, Giving back to others without any expectation in return is the rent we pay for our room here on earth because no one has ever become poor from giving.
