Mercy Chinwo is a Beautiful Nigerian gospel artist, actress, and comedian. She started singing at age 8 in her church children’s choir. Eventually, in 2012, she came to the spotlight after winning in the popular talent show ‘Nigerian Idols’.

Mercy is widely known for her hit single Excess Love (2018). The song earned her national and international recognition and sealed her status as one of the best vocalists in the Nigerian Gospel music ministry.

Mercy Chinwo Background

Mercy Nnenda Chinwo was born on September 5, 1990. She was born into the family of five in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. She lost her father at a young age, and had to fend for herself and other siblings. As a result, she took her music ministry serious from the beginning.

Mercy Chinwo Career

Mercy started her music career from the children’s choir at age 8. Subsequently, she moved into the adult choir and became the music director of her local church. She was also lending her voice to gospel music ministers like Sammie Okposo, Joe Praize, Buchi, Chris Morgan and Preye. Later on, she began to participate in musical competitions until she found Nigerian Idol. Eventually, she emerged winner in the season 2 of the Nigerian talent show, and came to limelight.

In 2015, she released her debut single Testimony (2015) and subsequently Igwe (2016). On February 20, 2018, Mercy released her debut studio album The Cross: My Gaze. The 16-track contemporary gospel songs was released by EeZee Conceptz under Dixtrit Media. It featured guest appearances from Shady B, Fiokee, Chris Morgan, and Olaitan Odoko. Since then, Mercy has continued to release soul-lifting worship songs.

Acting Career

Mercy Chinwo made an acting debut in House of Gold. House of Gold is a Ghanaian Nigerian comedy film produced by Yvonne Nelson, and directed by Pascal Amanfo. She starred as Lucia and featured alongside Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel, Omawumi, Ice Prince, Eddie Watson, Francis Odega e.t.c.

Music Career with EeZee Concept

Mercy Chinwo is one of the artists signed to EeZee Concept. The label is managed and owned by Mr. Ezekiel a.k.a Eezee Tee. It is a Christian record label doing God’s business on earth with passion for a divine move for the end time.

Apart from Mercy Chinwo, Mr. Timothy also manage music ministers like Preye Odede, Frank Edwards, Hilda Dokubo, and others who are using their music as a dynamic tool for Christ.

Mercy Chinwo’s Marriage

Mercy Chinwo is married to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa of Water Brooks Church Lekki, Lagos. The couple tied the knot in a glamorous church ceremony in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on August 13, 2022 just a day after their traditional marriage ceremony took place also in the same city of Port Harcourt.

The glamorous event attracted many celebrities to the Garden City. Among those in attendance were Obi Cubana, Joe Praize, Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Waje, Chigurl, Pita Sings, and many others.
