FORMER UDA Party candidate in the Presidential election in Kenya William Ruto has been elected as the President-elect for the fifth phase of the Government of the Republic of Kenya.

Announcing the results of the election, the Chairman of the Kenya Electoral Commission (IEBC) Wafula Chekubaki has noted that despite having several challenges including threats and the detention of some leaders of the Commission, he has thanked Kenyans for completing the election safely.
And the candidate through the Azimio Party, Raila Odinga, has failed to appear at the announcement of the President-Elect.
According to Wafula Chekubaki William Ruto got a total of 70,176,141 votes which is equal to 50.49% while his opponent Raila Odinga got a total of 60,942,930 votes which is equal to 48.85%
