I’m shamed for working at Iceland for 10 years but I’m PROUD of it – trolls say I have ‘no ambition’

THERE is nothing wrong with a hard day’s work but one man has revealed that he has been shamed for working in a supermarket for a decade.

Despite others looking down on his job, this Iceland worker has decided to hit back and trolls and explained why he is proud to work on the tills.

If you’ve ever wonder what life is like on the checkouts, you might want to start following @Adcro.

The influencer, who calls himself ‘that cheerful bald guy’, often shares snippets of his time working in the supermarket – as well as hilarious reaction videos.

While his TikToks regularly get over 10,000 views, the content creator, also known as Adam, has been targeted by trolls who criticise him for working at the discount supermarket.

One cruel comment even read: “10 years at Iceland…bro has no ambition.”

Rather than just ignoring the dig, the influencer decided to fire back and questioned why people could be so snobby about a job.

“Why judge people for the job they are doing?” argued the Northern content creator, adding: “Don’t judge people for how they earn money and pay their taxes.”

It’s clear that the influencer was shocked by the comment, with Adcro confused as to why people felt they could be so judgmental – despite him contributing to his community.

Continuing, he pointedly added: “There’s no need to be looking down at people and sneering at people for what they do in life [and] how they earn their wages.”

Despite the clip being uploaded less than 24 hours ago, Adam’s clip has already been seen over 262,000 times with many supermarket workers sharing their experiences in the comments.

One woman revealed that she’d spent over thirty years working in Asda and didn’t regret the time she’d spent in the supermarket.

She told others: “34 year at Asda I’ve done… it’s paid my bills and mortgage. I’ll be there till I retire now (7yrs).”

Another added: “Almost 10 years at Tesco and I felt kinda bad and useless until [I saw this] this. So thanks.”

It wasn’t just supermarket workers who’d been shamed for their jobs, with a third woman revealing she’d worked in a betting shop and constantly been slammed for her profession.

She wrote: “19 years working in a bookies! I get judged all the time… I’m working! Isn’t that all that matters?”

Even those that had earned a huge following from their unusual careers weren’t able to avoid the snobbery.

Having spent 22 years serving the potatoes from his trailer, TikTok star Spudman revealed he still gets judged for his profession.

This is despite having over 3 million fans on the app, who obsessed about his flavour combinations and every viral video.

Also known as Ben, he joked: “22 years in a catering trailer. I get judged all the time. I just sit back and smile.”

Thankfully, there were those that leapt to the Iceland worker’s defense in the comments – with many arguing that he didn’t matter what his job was.

“Can you imagine judging someone for working?” complained a fourth, with another stating: “Can you imagine judging someone for working?”

A sixth said: “If you’re working, no matter the job, it’s an achievement.”

We couldn’t agree more.
