2022’s Tony Award-winning meta-musical “A Strange Loop” will end its short but impactful run at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre on Jan. 15.

And while goodbyes to great musicals are always difficult, the best way to pay your respects is by catching the show one last time before the cast takes their final bows.

Not bad for a show that took home Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical at this year’s Tony Awards and has been buzzed about by Al Roker, Whoopi Goldberg and Trevor Noah on the air.

“A Strange Loop” schedule

The acclaimed musical — “A Strange Loop” also won a Pulitzer Prize in addition to a Tony — has less than 50 Broadway shows left at The Lyceum Theatre.

And while the genre-bending, mind-altering show is considered conventional by some, there is no doubt its schedule certainly is for the rest of the run.

Tuesday through Sunday shows, thrice-weekly matinees and 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. start times seem to be par for the remainder of the show’s course, save for holiday weeks.

Jaquel Spivey (Usher) made his Broadway debut with “A Strange Loop.” Before he was cast, he graduated from Point Park University with a degree in Musical Theatre in 2021. He originally hailed from Raleigh, North Carolina and shared that he “uses pineapple juice to carry him through performances” in an interview with The New York Times.

L Morgan Lee (Thought 1) wins awards. Just a few trophies atop her mantlepiece include an Obie and a Mark O’Donnell Prize. Her role in “A Strange Loop” is historic too— she is the first openly Transgender actress to originate a role in a Pulitzer Prize–winning piece of theater.

James Jackson, Jr. (Thought 2) is a triple threat. In addition to acting, he also plays music and is a cabaret artist. Other stage credits of his include singing with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and major off-Broadway roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Whistle Down the Wind,” “Dreamgirls,” and “Henri Gabler.”

John-Michael Lyles (Thought 3) may look familiar for his extensive TV work. It’s quite possible you caught him in “The Other Two,” “Chicago PD,” or “NCIS: New Orleans.” Onstage, it’s equally likely you saw his work off-Broadway in productions like “Sweeney Todd” (Barrow), “This Ain’t No Disco” (Atlantic), and “The Flick” (Barrow).

John-Andrew Morrison (Thought 4) co-hosts the podcast “5 Questions with James and JAM” with co-star James Jackson, Jr. For his work in “A Strange Loop,” he won a Lucille Lortel and an Obie Award, but that’s not all. He also appeared in the TBS series “The Last O.G.”
