Kushi Movie review

Cast: Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha, and others

Director: Shiva Nirvana

Producer: Naveen, Ravi Shankar

Music Director: Hesham Abdul Wahab

Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda have paired up for the movie Kushi. The film which carried decent expectations got released today. Let us check out the review.

Story:

Viplav (Vijay Deverakonda) is a BSNL employee who gets deployed in Kashmir and tries to woo Aara (Samantha), a Muslim girl, and eventually wins her heart. However, he gets to know that she is a Brahmin girl and they have to live separately after marriage.

How things unfold eventually and what happens next forms the crux of the story.

Performances:

The chemistry between Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha forms the major highlight of Kushi. The casting works perfectly. Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha tried to take the romance to the next level which worked fine. They both come back from disasters and it is refreshing to see them together doing well.

Vijay Deverakonda is lovable as a boy next door. Samantha underplays herself until the interval and after that, she takes things into hands. Samantha is fine in her role.

Vennela Kishore and Rahul Ramakrishna did fine as the sidekicks in either half. Murali Sharma, Sachin Khedekar, Jayaram, and Rohini seem perfect cast for their portrayals. Others are just fine.

Technicalities:

Hesham Abdul Wahab made his debut with Kushi and he did a wonderful job. The songs are pleasant and so is the background music. The cinematography work is excellent as well. Prawin Pudi’s editing is decent but one expects the work should be more crispy. The production values are grand.

Shiva Nirvana is known for romantic genre films. Though the Kushi story is not new, the director made sure the moments were passable. He does a fine job though.

Analysis:

Kushi starts off well without wasting any time. The entire first half is breezy with soulful music. The interval block works fine. The second starts well in a typical manner. The family episodes are relatable.

While the first half is passable, the second half has some hiccups. However, the climax is good and overall, Kushi gives a decent feel-good romantic entertainer watchable feel.

Rating: 3/5
