Rammstein officially banned Viagogo from reselling their concert and tour tickets

Rammstein legally banned Viagogo one of the famous ticket-selling websites from selling their concert tickets. Rammstein doesn’t want to include this website for the 2023 European tour for the upcoming tours.

Why Rammstein banned Viagogo from reselling the band’s tour tickets?

The band has assured that tickets will not be sold at inflated rates ahead of the tour. These reports that the city of Hamburg has issued a restraining order preventing any tickets for the Rammstein 2023 tour from being sold on Viagogo. Secondary ticket retailers, such as Viagogo, are sometimes accused of making it more difficult for fans to attend concerts by pricing their tickets more than first-hand dealers.

The district court of Hamburg issued the order, which is the second time the court has banned Viagogo from selling Rammstein concert tickets. Till Lindemann and band members’ most recent order against the corporation came in 2019.

Attorney Sebastian Ott also talked about this case:

“Buyers often do not realise that they are not buying their tickets from the organiser but on the secondary ticket market. The legislature has recognised this deficiency and acted. We are pleased that the district court of Hamburg shares our opinion and consistently prohibits violations of the new law.”

Rammstein will also kick off the 2023 tour on May 22, 2023, beginning with Vingio Parkas in Lithuania and continuing to Germany, Spain, Holland, and France. They will end their epic journey on August 4 in Belgium’s King Baudouin Stadium.

Regarding that, over a three-month period, ITV News and the advocacy organization FanFair Alliance collaborated to discover that tickets on the resale site were being offered by three merchants, implying that fewer than 10% of tickets were being sold by regular customers.

174 festivals and outdoor events totaling 11,000 tickets were investigated throughout the inquiry period. Three merchants were selling slightly over two-thirds of them for a total face value of around 800,000 USD. Totally they were seeking to sell them for, however, was substantially greater, estimated at 1.8 million USD.
