Legendary boxer Butterbean is coming out of retirement and wants Jake Paul for one last fight

Surprising news awaits as Eric Esch, the renowned boxer famously known as Butterbean, has revealed his decision to end his retirement and return to the boxing ring. Interestingly, he has set his sights on none other than Jake Paul as a potential adversary. Such unexpected information surely caught you off guard, didn't it? Butterbean, who competed in his most recent bout in 2013, boasts an impressive boxing legacy. Throughout his career, he engaged in a total of 91 fights, securing an outstanding record of 77 victories, including 58 knockout wins. Additionally, he encountered four draws and suffered 10 losses.
After a decade of retirement, the 56-year-old boxing legend has made an announcement that he intends to don his gloves once again and face an undisclosed opponent in the coming year. Taking to Instagram, he expressed, "I have decided to engage in one final fight. It will take place exactly one year from now." In an intriguing turn of events, he specifically called out 'Problem Child' Paul, stating, "Jake Paul, if you're prepared, I am ready to face you, my friend. Let's make it happen, a showdown between you and me, Jake Paul." This is not the first instance where Butterbean has mentioned the YouTuber-turned-boxer. During an interview with the Sun last year, he asserted that Paul tends to be excessively vocal, indicating his disapproval of the YouTube personality's behavior. In his interview with the publication, he emphasized, "I don't conform to the standard mold of a boxer. I step into that ring with the intention to fight, aiming to deliver a knockout blow. Whether it's Jake Paul or Mike Tyson, I'm game for either." "Jake Paul tends to be excessively talkative, without having faced any formidable opponents. It would be a delight to confront him in the ring." "However, I believe there is a strong desire among the public to witness a showdown between me and Tyson, which would undoubtedly generate significant attention."

Despite being friends with Tyson, Butterbean expressed his willingness to fight friends, including the former heavyweight champion. Furthermore, he asserted that Paul was well aware of his desire for a match, hinting at the involvement of notable figures who are interested in a potential bout. During an interview in July of the previous year, he confidently stated, "He is aware of it. I am absolutely certain that he knows about my challenge to him."
"I will wait until I am closer to being fully prepared, but I have received several enticing fight offers from prominent individuals. I won't disclose their identities, but I have received a couple of contracts." As for Paul, he is still in the early stages of his career, having participated in seven fights thus far. Out of those, he emerged victorious in six, with four victories achieved by knockout, and experienced a single defeat. Following his loss to Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia last February, Paul has not engaged in any fights. However, he is scheduled to face Nate Diaz at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, in August.
