'Embarrassed' BGT winner Viggo Venn says it's 'not his fault' he won after being booed

Viggo Venn, the winner of Britain's Got Talent, has confessed to feeling 'embarrassed' about his victory, although he asserts that winning was 'not his own doing'.
In this year's finale, a fierce competition unfolded among various talented individuals, including dancer Lillianna, magician Cillian, dancer Musa Motha, singer Amy Lou, comedian Viggo Venn, 11-year-old singer Olivia Lynes, the dance and music troupe Ghetto Kids, Welsh singer Travis George, 13-year-old singer Malakai Bayoh, and the dance act Duo Odyssey, all vying for the prestigious first place.

However, it was ultimately Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn who emerged as the winner, claiming the £250,000 prize and earning a coveted spot at the Royal Variety Performance.

Venn's performance left the judges, studio audience, and undoubtedly the viewers who participated in the home voting completely astonished.
However, there were viewers watching from home who expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome, with one individual describing the decision as 'dreadful'.

Another person remarked, "That was a major disappointment. Lillianna was absolutely outstanding."

A third comment read, "It's absurd! This is Britain's Got Talent, and Lillianna was undoubtedly the best contestant. Yes, he's quite funny, but he shouldn't have won!"

Even some members of the studio audience were heard booing in response to the result.

Venn has now addressed the peculiar backlash during an interview on ITV's Lorraine, emphasizing that it is 'not his fault' that he emerged victorious and highlighting that his win was determined by public votes.

He even admitted that he had hoped not to be declared the winner as it would be 'embarrassing'.

Introducing her guest, host Lorraine Kelly advised her viewers to 'anticipate the unexpected'.

Defending his victory, he conveyed to her, "I am not to blame for winning; it's the British public who decided."
"I was actually hoping I wouldn't win because it would be incredibly embarrassing, but I was genuinely overjoyed," Venn admitted.

Kelly then chimed in, saying, "However, we need some lightheartedness. King Charles will adore you; you should try to get him to wear a waistcoat since he enjoys a bit of silliness."

Furthermore, the judges of BGT had nothing but admiration for the individual who would ultimately be crowned the winner of series 16.

Reflecting on Venn's performance, new judge Bruno Tonioli remarked, "Your physical comedy is of an international standard; you have created one of the most unforgettable characters since Mr. Bean."

Even Simon Cowell remarked, "Tonight, you didn't make me look foolish. I have never, ever encountered an act like yours before. I'll admit it, I really, really adore you now."
