Candace Cameron Bure's daughter has defended her mother amid backlash for her comments about "traditional" marriage.

The Full House alum's 24-year-old daughter, Natasha Bure, commended her mother after she said in her interview with The Wall Street Journal that the Great American Family network, where she serves as a chief creative officer, would not feature same-sex couples in starring roles.

"I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment," she said. "I think that [the company] will keep traditional marriage at the core."

Cameron Bure's comments were slammed by several stars, such as JoJo Siwa and Hilarie burton, which prompted her daughter to share a post on Instagram defending her and writing: "I love you @candacecbure for continuously choosing Christ before all."

"I applaud you every time for how you handle yourself with the [utmost] grace. As they continuously twist the narrative to beat down on the Kingdom, you stand firm in [the] faith," she continued in her post.

The Home Sweet Home actress then added that her mother's words often get twisted - something she feels is "so incredibly sad to watch".

"No matter how out of context or warped the words may get, the enemy will not prevail," she wrote. "Society has gotten completely out of hand with believing every strategically worded headline broadcasted by the media…followed by cancel culture which is nothing but ugly."

"I am lucky to get to view you from a lens closer than most and see how you are truly the real deal. The Lord shines through [your] time and time again. The battle is HIS," she concluded.

The Fuller House actress' comments come after discussing how her former network, Hallmark, revealed that they are set to release their first-ever LGBTQ+ Christmas movie.

Cameron Bure explained how the network's newfound values didn't align with her Christian ones, which is why the Great American Family network will not be doing the same with their content.

However, the Christmas Under Wraps actress' comments provoked Siwa - who came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021. Siwa took to her Instagram account on November 15 to express her disappointment.

"Honestly, I can't believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+," she said.

"But then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people," the 19-year-old Dance Mom star added.

In addition to this, Burton took to her social media page to voice her opinion on the star's comments in the controversial WSJ interview.

"Bigot. I don't remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank," she said.

In a separate tweet, Burton, who was also featured on the Hallmark network, wrote: "Now they're just openly admitting their bigotry. I called this s*** out years ago when Abbott was at Hallmark."

"Glad they dumped him. Being LGBTQ isn't a 'trend'. That guy and his network are disgusting. You too Candy. There is nothing untraditional about same-sex couples," she added.
