On Friday, the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) group stated that it will not agree to a consensus arrangement for the selection of the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate.

Sen. Dayo Adeyeye, Chairman of Swaga, said in Abuja after purchasing Tinubu’s APC presidential form, that all aspirants must be allowed to test their popularity at the party’s primaries.

Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, is one of many candidates vying to be the APC’s presidential candidate in 2023.

Other candidates include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi.

Tinubu’s SWAGA was officially launched in October, while he was recuperating in the United Kingdom.

Tinubu, according to the Group, “understands the diverse nature of the Nigerian economy,” which is supported by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
