There are many utility stores in Lahore that sell groceries and other essentials needed to live.
Utility stores in Lahore have a wide range of products from household items to electronics goods.
These stores are usually open 6 days a week. These stores are located in various parts of the city and are open 9am to 8 pm a day. They are accessible and affordable for almost everyone and provide necessary services at a reasonable price. They can be easily identified by their bright lights shining outside at night and they have a cashier inside who accepts your cash payment.
Harsh Reality The condition of utility stores in Pakistan is getting worse day by day. We were surprised to find out that on a Multan road there is one of big utility store of Lahore but this was not fully equipped with basic household items like sugar, oil, rice, flour etc. Even then, long lines of people lined outside the store for their turn to go inside. But unfortunately, they find nothing after a long time struggle because very basic food items were out of stock. And you know what this scene remains the same mostly all the time.😟

These stores are usually located in prime locations due to their high demand for customers and higher profitability.
Superstores have everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to meat, dairy, and fish etc.
You can find many different types of specialty foods here as well. However, these stores charge expensive prices compared to utility stores.
After visiting 2 different big Utility Stores and because of low level and shortage of basic products we had to visit a Superstore nearby.
This is not always the case but most often happens.
The second type of super market offers a wider range of products. You could find anything here
ranging from fresh fruits and vegetables to dry goods like rice and flour.
It is usually a bit more expensive than the previous category but you get what you pay for.
These types of stores target people who are looking to buy things like paper towels, cleaning products, etc. They do sell some healthy foods but these items are usually hidden on the second level of the store.
