What happens after the Jamb, and when will the Jamb start admitting students?  This is a question asked by both those who failed the Jamb and those who passed.   It is very simple for those who failed the Jamb.  While studying for the Jamb next year, get a job or learn new skills.   Returning to the original topic, what happens after Jamb?  That is precisely what I will teach you.  Let’s get started with a glass of water.  Check Your Jamb Score And Your Desired Institution: Check your Jamb score to see if it will allow you to attend your desired institution.  If yes, congratulations…  If not, move on to the next level.   One thing is certain: knowing your school’s JAMB cut off mark will help you determine whether you are qualified for your school’s post-UTME examination.   Also, remember that failing the Jamb does not mean you are a failure.  Everything is affected by time and chance.  You can still take the Jamb and get in. Check Your Course And Cut Off: Once you’ve confirmed that you’ve passed your school’s general cut off, the next step is to see if your score qualifies you for admission. This is the first thing you must understand.  It will tell you whether you are qualified for admission to your preferred school.  There are two types of cut-off marks used by institutions: (a) The general cut-off mark: the minimum JAMB score you must achieve before being considered for admission to the university. Consider Changing Schools Or Courses: If your score isn’t good enough to get into your first choice school, fill out a change of institution form. If your JAMB score is insufficient to gain admission to the course or institution to which you applied, you will need to alter courses or institutions.  Two factors to consider when changing your course and institution are: a: The course you wish to switch to must be compatible with your UTME subject combination.  For example, if your UTME subject combination includes English, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, don’t switch to Biochemistry.  This will not work because Biology is required to study Biochemistry.  Be Patient: After the Jamb, most people are eager to get back to school.  “My school should provide admission list na,” you say.  Relax to keep your blood pressure from rising above normal.  Have Fun: I understand that many applicants will be fasting until their names appear on the admissions list.  This isn’t required. You are not the one who must confess.  As a result, “leave garbage for lawma.”  If you’ve completed the essential tasks, forget about Jamb and carry on with your life. Learn A Skill: Around September, Jamb releases the first batch admission status.  There is no need to squander time.  Improve yourself.
