National Dog Day
For Dog owners, every day can be a dog day but as National Dog Day, August 26 is a worldwide celebrated day to recognize and honor dogs as man’s best friend who has been a human companion for over 14,000 years (domestication). First introduced by Colleen Paige in 2004, this special day aims to raise awareness about providing a safe and happy home to dogs and promote pet adoption from animal shelters and rescue groups.
