Speaking to Deadline, Mazin revealed that one episode for Season 2 of ‘The Last of Us’ was written prior to the writers’ strike. He said, “We know what the whole season is, and I was actually able to get a write and submit the first episode right before the deadline hit.” Mazin added, “So now I’m just walking around, kind of brain-writing, I guess, which I don’t think is scabbing. I take walks and I think through the scenes because when the bell rings and this is over because the companies have finally come to their senses, I’m going to have to basically shoot myself out of a cannon because we really want to try and get this show on the air when it’s supposed to be on the air.”

Yeah, probably, there usually is, starting even with casting. I’m never gonna say there are things that are gonna happen in the show that happened in the game. You never know what we’re gonna do, But I will say that it is the adventure, the journey is the point. There are things that will shock people, things that were in the game, things that were not in the game, and that’s okay. As long as they’re purposeful, they’re not there to just simply shock. We are not interested in creating social media fear. We just want to tell the story the way we think it should be told.”
