Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 gives a legendary ending to the legendary characters. The film had almost all the elements of laughter, emotional moments, and incredible actions. James Gunn, who directed the film, set an awesome ending for the Guardians. The film stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis, with Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, Chukwudi Iwuji as Herbert Wyndham/High Evolutionary, Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Maria Bakalova as Cosmo, and Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 opens with a flashback of Rocket, also known as “89P13,” among a group of caged raccoons. High Evolutionary picks him, and the scene quickly cuts to the present day, where the new Guardians HQ is located on Knowhere.

In the aftermath of Gamora’s death, Quill has turned to alcohol, causing the rest of the Guardians to worry about him. However, their concerns are abruptly interrupted when Adam Warlock arrives on Knowhere to grab Rocket. In a brutal attack, Warlock decapitates Groot, nearly kills Drax, and blasts Rocket with an energy beam, leaving him in a critical state. Nebula steps in and stabs him before he can be taken away, and Rocket flies off. Back on Knowhere, Quill, and Mantis try to use a med-pack on Rocket, but they discover a kill switch in his mechanical upgrades that will end his life if they attempt to use it. The Guardians have just 48 hours to find a solution before Rocket dies. They investigate the corporation that created Rocket’s technology and travel to their planet HQ, leaving Kraglin and Cosmo behind to guard Knowhere.

As they approach the planet HQ, the Guardians encounter a surprising ally – Past! Gamora, who has now become a member of the Ravagers. She helps them infiltrate the planet, but a fight breaks out. The Guardians manage to obtain the file on Rocket’s mechanical parts, but they soon realize that a portion of it has been deleted and saved to the brain-computer of one of the High Evolutionary’s “recorders.” Determined to save Rocket, the Guardians decide to track down the recorder and head to the High Evolutionary’s coordinates. However, their mission is complicated by the arrival of the Sovereign, Ayesha from “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” and Adam Warlock’s “mom.” They need to get Rocket back to the High Evolutionary, his creator and will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. The fate of Rocket and the rest of the Guardians hangs in the balance as they prepare to face their most dangerous mission yet.

Throughout the story, there are flashbacks showing Rocket Raccoon’s past as Baby Rocket, 89P13, being experimented on and developed by the High Evolutionary. The High Evolutionary wants to create a utopia of anthropomorphic animals by shoving them in chambers that fast-forward them through millions of years of controlled, programmed evolution in seconds. Baby Rocket’s cellmates are an otter with mechanical arms (Lyla), a walrus with tires for feet and mechanically-pried-open eyes (Teefs), and a bunny with robot spider legs and a metallically-caged mouth (Floor). Baby Rocket helps the High Evolutionary perfect the process, and afterward, the High Evolutionary orders Baby Rocket’s brain to be surgically removed for study and for his cellmates to be incinerated. Baby Rocket tries to them out, but they were close to the escape, unfortunately, High Evolutionary shoots Lyla. His reinforcements arrive, and Rocket shoots them dead, while he turns around to find the reinforcements killed Teefs and Floor. During the escape, Rocket claws off the High Evolutionary’s face.

The Guardians of the Galaxy travel to Counter-Earth, which is full of “Humanimals” created by the High Evolutionary. Gamora stays with Rocket, Drax, and Mantis stay near the ship, and Nebula, Quill, and Groot go to the High Evolutionary’s lair. As they journey to the lair, they witness homeless Humanimals, drug-dealing Humanimals, and Humanimals killing each other, proving that it is not the utopia that the High Evolutionary intended it to be. Nebula has to stay behind because her arm is a weapon, and Groot and Quill continue into the lair. The High Evolutionary reveals that since Counter-Earth failed as a utopia, he plans to blow it up and start a new colony experiment. The planet starts to explode, and his lair spaceship launches. Quill tackles the “recorder” whose computer has the deleted file, and Groot helps Quill land safely. They obtain the data, and the Guardians of the Galaxy narrowly escape the destruction of Counter-Earth.

As the Guardians fight their way through the High Evolutionary’s ship, they encounter various obstacles and enemies. Rocket, who has recovered from his injuries, leads the charge with his newfound sense of purpose. Meanwhile, Kraglin and Cosmo battle against the High Evolutionary army on Knowhere.

As the two groups fight their respective battles, they realize that they need to work together to take down the High Evolutionary. Quill, Gamora, and Nebula team up to take out the High Evolutionary’s control room, while Drax and Mantis face off against the High Evolutionary’s enhanced soldiers. Groot uses his abilities to manipulate the ship’s technology, creating a diversion that allows the Guardians to gain the upper hand. In the end, the Guardians are able to defeat the High Evolutionary and save the Humanimals on Counter-Earth. As they prepare to leave, Adam Warlock shows up and asks to join the team. Quill is hesitant at first, but the rest of the Guardians welcome him with open arms. With a newfound sense of unity and purpose, the Guardians blast off into space, ready for their next adventure.

The film contains two post-credits scenes which we have explained.
